Description
The present invention relates to a video content receiving system, a video content receiving method, and a recording medium for receiving video content distributed from a plurality of content holding devices.
In recent years, it has become possible to view various contents provided by a plurality of companies via the Internet, and the types and amounts of contents have increased. As a result, it has become difficult for viewers to find content that suits their tastes from various contents provided by a plurality of businesses. Thus, conventionally, a technique for recommending content that meets the viewer's preference from among content provided by a plurality of businesses has been proposed (for example, Patent Document 1).
In Patent Document 1, broadcast reception having a program recommendation function for not only terrestrial digital broadcasting and BS / CS digital broadcasting as broadcast media but also IP broadcasting using an IP (Internet Protocol) network and VOD (Video On Demand). A system has been proposed. The broadcast receiving system described in Patent Document 1 includes a home gateway device that acquires program information broadcast on each broadcast medium and stores it in a program information database, broadcasting using radio waves, and IP via the home gateway device. And a broadcast receiving terminal device that receives content such as broadcast. For example, the home gateway device creates a user profile indicating a viewing tendency of a program for each user based on channel selection information and user identification information received from the broadcast receiving terminal device. Then, a program that matches the user profile created from the stored program information database is searched to create a recommended program list and transmitted to the corresponding user. Accordingly, the broadcast receiving system described in Patent Literature 1 can generate a user profile indicating a user's viewing tendency with respect to a program broadcast on all broadcast media, and can recommend a program based on the user profile.

Here, a method for generating and storing the viewing information described above will be described with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 8 is a flowchart showing a method of generating and storing viewing information according to the present embodiment.
As shown in FIG. 8, first, the viewing information generation unit 44 in the OTT-BOX 40 determines whether or not metadata is included in the received video content (S50). If the video content includes metadata (Yes in S50), the metadata is generated as viewing information (S51). Subsequently, the image analysis unit 44a performs machine learning using the video content (S52). Machine learning will be described later. On the other hand, if the video content does not include metadata (No in S50), the image analysis unit 44a of the viewing information generation unit 44 performs image analysis on the video content (S54) and is extracted by the analysis. Viewing information is generated based on the metadata (S55).
The viewing information generation unit 44 stores the viewing information generated as described above in the storage unit 50 (S53).
As described above, when the video content includes metadata that is text data related to the video content, the image analysis unit 44a performs machine learning using the video and metadata included in the video content. Thereby, the accuracy of image analysis in the image analysis unit 44a can be improved.
In addition, when the video content does not include metadata that is text data related to the video content, the viewing information generation unit 44 generates the viewing information by performing image analysis on the video content. 44a. Thereby, even when the video content does not include metadata, the viewing information generation unit 44 can generate viewing information. For this reason, a user's preference can be grasped more correctly by using the viewing information.
Here, machine learning using the above-mentioned video content will be described. In machine learning, the image analysis unit 44a extracts video content metadata by performing image analysis of the video content, and compares the extracted metadata with metadata included in the video content. Based on the comparison result, the image analysis unit 44a learns an extraction method for making the extracted data coincide with (or approach) the metadata included in the video content. Thereby, the accuracy of metadata extraction in the image analysis unit 44a can be improved.

A mode in which any viewing information is not stored in the storage unit 50 is switched. Thereby, the user can select not to save the viewing information, which is private information, in the storage unit 50.
Further, in the video content receiving system 30, when the user can set whether or not the viewing information can be transmitted to the communication device managed by the provider, as shown in FIG. 10, after the user views the video content (S70). The viewing information generation unit 44 determines whether the user is permitted to transmit viewing information (S71). Here, when the user is permitted to transmit viewing information (Yes in S71), the transmission unit 42 transmits viewing information (S72). On the other hand, when the user is not permitted to transmit viewing information (No in S71), the transmission unit 42 does not transmit viewing information (S73).
Note that the permission to save viewing information and the permission to transmit viewing information are set for each user, but may be set for each content.
As described above, the transmission unit 42 transmits at least one of the first viewing information and the second viewing information stored in the storage unit 50 to the first communication device based on the predetermined information, and the storage. The mode in which neither the first viewing information nor the second viewing information stored in the unit 50 is transmitted to the first communication device may be switched. Accordingly, the user can select not to transmit viewing information that is private information to the first communication device.
