Description

A DISHWASHER
The present invention relates to a dishwasher with improved drying efficiency.
The standard washing cycles in dishwashers comprise pre-washing, main washing, first rinse, second rinse and drying steps. The second rinse step is performed with warm water in order to enhance the drying performance. In this step, subsidiary cleaning agents named rinse aid is used in addition to detergents, in order to increase the drying performance and the radiance of the kitchenware. Rinse aid forms a thin layer of film on the washed items. This layer reduces the surface tension of water and enables it to flow from the surfaces of the items more easily. By using rinse aid, the dirt particles likely to be retained in the rinsing water is removed by means of water without clinging on the surfaces of the washed items. Rinse aid is conveyed to the washing tub by means of a dosing unit. The amount of rinse aid can be determined automatically or by the user. The rinse aid dosing process is interrupted in case a safety issue arises with the dishwasher or its door is opened by the user during washing. When the washing cycle continues afterwards, the rinse aid is dosed from the very beginning, or rinse aid dosing is not performed at all. This leads to use of insufficient or excessive amount of rinse aid. Using insufficient rinse aid decreases the drying performance, and using excessive rinse aid causes forming of spots on the kitchenware.
