Abstract

The present invention is a syringe that can be locked in negative pressure (vacuum) status, which is related to the fields of human needs. It is also a subsection of health field. The purpose of this invention is to produce a syringe with the ability of getting locked in suction mode (negative pressure). The shifting status of the syringe from lock to unlock and vice versa must also be performed easily and with minimum possible error, and a plunger in locked status must be stable as well. Moreover, the possibility of getting unlocked should not be happening to the plunger. This invention is applied in various fields, such as suction of blood and other fluids of human body from chest and abdominal cavity, suction of pus and fluids from cysts and other lesions of human body, and pericardiocentesis and suction of joint fluid.

Description

Negative pressure locked syringe
Technical Field Of Invention:
[0001] The current invention relates to the field of human needs, which is a subsection of health field. In particular, the invention is concerned with medical equipments.
Background
[0002] It usually takes two hands to hold a syringe in a negative or suction mode. Sometimes, using one hand is possible but very difficult. In either cases, a nurse or a doctor who is involved in this procedure, specially when and if it is necessary to keep this vacuum mode for a while, the operator will be exhausted and operation and maneuver abilities will be limited.
[0003] In the designed syringe, the operator can lock the syringe after setting it in a negative pressure (vacuum) mode. Actually, hands of the operator will be free, controlling and directing the syringe and attached needle will be much easier.
[0004] The purpose of this invention is to produce a syringe that is able to be locked in negative pressure (vacuum) mode. Meanwhile, changes in the status of the syringe from lock to unlock and vice versa must be easy and with minimum error. At the same time, locked plunger must be totally stable, and accidental unlocking of a plunger should not be possible.
Generally, the invention of the mentioned item resolved these issues:
• Involvement of hands of the operator and exhaustion due to creating negative pressure in syringe: In the mentioned invention, a plunger will be locked in negative pressure(vacuum) mode and hands of the operator will be free for more efficient use of the syringe. In case of repeating the procedure, the hands will not be exhausted.
• The possibility of unlocking the plunger unwillingly in samples available in the market: in the proposed design, there is a fully ensurance of plunger being locked and not accidentally getting unlocked (secure locking system)
• In samples available in the market, the operator must memorize the direction of rotation to lock or unlock the plunger. In this design, the operator should simply rotate the plunger clockwise or counterclockwise (90 degree rotation around the plunger axis) to lock or unlock the plunger. Therefore, the operator cannot fail the rotation of the plunger (safe two-way lock unlock system)
[0005] Applied changes in the invention syringe are briefly listed below:
• Providing lock points in plunger (FIG.l-B)
• Alteration in flange area of the syringe (FIG.l-D)
• Semi-moving stopper piece (FIG.l-A)
Industrial Applicability
[0006] Suction of blood and fluids of human body from chest and abdominal cavity
[0007] Suction of pus and fluids from cysts and other lesions of body
[0008] Pericardiocentesis and suction of joint fluid
[0009] Providing samples of thyroid and lymph glands for cytology (fine needle aspiration)
[0010] Taking blood samples
[0011] Liposuction in low volume to provide adipose tissues for fat injection or transfer
[0012] Providing samples of fat cells for stem cell separation
[0013] Removing blood clots from arteries such as coronary arteries by assistance of special catheter
Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention
[0014] After fitting the plunger into barrel, the existed appendage is placed on stopper inside the groove without lock points, and the syringe is drained by pressing the plunger. When plunger is pulled backward (creating negative pressure), the syringe could be locked by clockwise or counterclockwise rotation of the plunger (90 degree). Repeating the same procedure will unlock the plunger.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0015] A sample of this invention is provided in maps to enhance the comprehension of this invention. However, the invention is not limited to procedures and special structures provided here. There are some letters in maps, which are explained with the same letters in the invention description chapter.
[0016] FIG.l: Sample of the syringe which shows all pieces separately.
[0017] FIG.2: Sample showing the barrel part of the syringe.
[0018] FIG.3: Sample representing the syringe. [0019] FIG.4: Sample representing the syringe.
[0020] FIG.5: Sample representing the syringe.
Disclosure of Invention
[0021] The current invention is a syringe that can be locked in negative pressure (vacuum) status. According to Figure 1, pieces of this syringe are:
• Stopper (A)
• Lock point (B)
• Barrel (C)
• Altered flange (D)
• Altered plunger (E)
• Plunger seal (F)
[0022] In this design, a stopper (A) is added to the syringe. Stopper (A) is a semi-moving piece placed on barrel (C) exactly under flange (D), which forms an obstacle against created lock points (B) on plunger (E). Plunger (E) consists of four grooves , and lock points (B) are designed inside of two grooves. Therefore, every other groove consists of lock points (B). After importing plunger (E) into barrel (C), the available appendage on stopper (A) is placed on the grooves without lock points (B), and the syringe is drained by pressing the plunger (E). When the plunger is pulled backward (creating negative pressure) with clockwise or counterclockwise rotation (90 degrees), the syringe is locked. Repeating this procedure unlocks the plunger (E). When the plunger (E) is rotated, the walls between grooves put pressure under stopper appendage (A), stopper (A) is slightly raised above the barrel (C) and placed in the next groove. In locked mode, the syringe is fully stable and there is no possibility of accidental unlocking of the plunger (E). Due to the stopper appendage, which is placed in front of lock point and inside a plunger groove (E), there is no way for plunger to be unlocked. In flange (D) area of the syringe, a downhill is designed to prevent the stopper (A).

Claims

Claims
What is claimed is:
1- The claimed invention is "a syringe that can be locked in negative pressure (vacuum) status" consisting of the following pieces:
• Stopper (A)
• Lock point (B)
• Barrel (C)
• Altered flange (D)
• Altered plunger (E)
• Plunger seal (F)
2- The system of claim 1, consists of a piece called stopper (A), which is added to the syringe. Stopper (A) is on barrel (C) and exactly placed under flange (D).
3- The system of claim 1, consists of plunger (E) with four grooves. Four lock points are designed inside of two grooves. Therefore, every other groove consists of lock points.
4- The system of claim 1, wherein after fitting plunger (e) into barrel (C), the existing appendage on stopper (A) is placed inside the groove without lock point, and the syringe is drained by pushing Plunger (E).
5- The system of claim 1, wherein when plunger (E) is pulled backward (creating negative pressure), it could be locked by rotating plunger clockwise or counterclockwise direction (90 degree). Repeating the same procedures will let Plunger (E) to be unlocked.
6- The system of claim 1, wherein whenever plunger (E) is rotated, the walls between grooves put pressure below appendage of stopper (A), which let stopper (A) be raised above barrel (B) and placed in the next groove. When plunger is locked, the syringe is totally stable and there is no chance for plunger to accidentally get unlocked, which is due to the fact that the appendage of stopper (A) is placed in front of the lock point and inside a groove of Plunger (E), which reduces the chance of getting unlock to zero.
7- Various applications of the mentioned invention are: : suction of blood and fluids from chest and abdominal cavity, suction of pus and fluids from cysts and other lesions of human body, pericardiocentesis and suction of joint fluid, providing samples of thyroid and lymph glands for cytology, taking blood samples, liposuction in low volume to provide adipose tissues for fat injection or transfer, providing fat cells for stem cell separation, and removing blood clots from arteries, such as coronary arteries by the assistance of special catheter.
