  • the smooth contours on the outer sides of the scoop section and the curved profile of the bottom can reduce the friction between the scoop and the ice, or other material being scooped, during the scooping action.
  • the reinforced leading edge of the scoop helps to prevent breaking or cracking of the scoop during usage, for example, the reinforced leading edge inhibits damage to the scoop when used to break chunks of ice that have melted together while also inhibiting damage to the exposed scoop edge. This more durable leading edge is less likely to chip and contaminate the ice with plastic fragments.

Abstract

L'invention porte sur un appareil servant à recueillir un matériau, c'est-a-dire un dispositif de pelle servant à recueillir des matériaux tels que de la glace, ledit dispositif comportant une section pelle comprenant un fond, un bord avant, deux parois latérales mutuellement espacées s'étendant vers le haut à partir de côtés opposés du fond, et une partie arrière entre les deux parois latérales, s'étendant vers le haut à partir du fond à l'opposé du bord avant. La pelle comporte une cavité délimitée par le fond, les parois latérales et la partie arrière et comportant une extrémité avant ouverte à partir de laquelle elle s'étend vers l'arrière. Le fond de la section pelle comporte au moins une nervure inclinée vers l'arrière à partir du bord avant, qui peut être renforcé, et s'étendant transversalement dans la cavité entre les deux parois latérales mutuellement espacées. La pelle comporte un manche relié à la partie arrière de la section pelle et s'étendant vers l'arrière à partir de celle-ci. La pelle est conçue pour transférer efficacement le matériau recueilli afin de minimiser les déversements accidentels et de maximiser le volume de matériau transporté par pelletée, et afin d'empêcher la rupture ou la fissuration de la pelle pendant l'utilisation.
