Definitions
- the present invention relates to a device to avoid generating splashes during the use of toilets.
- the object of the invention is therefore to provide a removable modular element, attachable to the edge of a toilet bowl that prevents the classic splashes that originate in physiological acts, both urinating and defecating.
- the device is applicable to any type of toilet, acting as an elastic element that slows down and consequently slows the access of urine and / or excrement to said toilet, thus avoiding the generation of splashes.
- document US 2005014471 1 describes an anti-splash and deodorant device for urinals, which although it presents a simple and easily implantable solution, its application is limited to wall urinals, so it is impossible to apply to conventional toilets, since it is intended exclusively to prevent splashing of urine, which lets through its spongy body, but that obviously would not allow its use when it comes to solid waste.
- the device of the invention is constituted from an oval contour frame, with an open end sector and the other endowed with a box for coupling by plugging an arm through which it is fixed the assembly on the upper edge of the toilet bowl, with the particularity that the oval frame, which has dimensions in plan according to the access opening to the toilet siphon, is provided with a plurality of flexible filaments, preferably silicone , although they could be of any other flexible material, which determine a damping surface for urine and solid feces.
- a kind of flexible barrier is defined at the mouth of the toilet siphon, determined from the silicone filaments mentioned above, which act as damping and deformable elements, avoiding the abrupt contact of the urine or feces with the water contained in said siphon, thus avoiding the generation of splashes in both one and another case.
- the device has the peculiarity that the frame with the silicone filaments is independent from the fixing arm, said frame being preferably made of plastic material, as well as the arm, of a rigid or flexible nature, said arm having an end section angled in "U", to define the means of adaptation to the edge or mouth of the toilet bowl, projecting from said configuration in "U” the arm inclined downwards so that the frame provided at the opposite end, with the elastic horizontal surface deformable as a function of the damping element, it is located above the level of the water contained in the toilet siphon.
- the aforementioned decoupling arm of the frame may only have the function of an applicator element, the aforementioned inverted "U” bending not being necessary, so that said frame is simply supported on the inside of the toilet stably.
- said frame may incorporate recesses or superficial recesses in which it is likely to be arranged a disinfectant and flavored gel, preferably in solid format, which will dissolve along with the water poured by the toilet thus improving its hygiene.
- the whole device could be coated with a film of non-stick material that prevents fouling of the device.
- the device of the invention could be materialized in any appropriate material, incorporate reinforcement materials and even be obtained in biodegradable materials, such as based on soluble cardboard in water and the like, in order that its withdrawal is not necessary once used, as well as being able to include photo-luminescent materials that facilitate its visibility in poor light conditions.
- the device is capable of being personalized through the frame itself, arm or both, with company logos, advertising messages or the information / decoration that is considered most appropriate.

- Figure 6. Shows a perspective view of a variant embodiment of the device, in which the frame-bearing arm is not only removable, but also has the function of an applicator, in order to be removed once arranged on the toilet.
- Figure 7.- Finally shows a perspective view of the device of the previous figure duly disassembled.
- the device that is recommended is constituted from a frame (1), which in the chosen embodiment example is obtained in PVC, without discarding other materials, of oval configuration and open at one of its ends, defining a pair of arched arms from which a plurality of filaments (2) of silicone or similar material emerge internally, which define a surface that allows the passage of urine and even feces, by elastic deformation of said filaments, thus significantly reducing the speed of access of said urine or feces to the toilet and therefore avoiding the generation of splashes.
- the rear end of the frame (1) includes a box (3) in which the end of an arm (4) is plugged in, at the opposite end of which it has a double bend to form a hooking element (5) to be fixed. to the upper edge (6) of the cup or toilet (7) in which it is applied.
- the frame (1) with the silicone filaments (2) are positioned forming a deformable horizontal plane above the level (8) of the water contained in the toilet siphon, in such a way that these silicone filaments (2) act as damping means for urine and feces given their high flexibility, returning to their inoperative position once these feces have been transferred or urine, that is, re-forming a buffer surface, and can be used as many times as necessary without affecting its stability or structure.
- the frame () can have a single piece character with the arm (4), which is topped by its lower extremity in a "V" sector, from which the two arched arms emerge that participate in said frame, presenting its filaments (2 ') of greater length and slightly curved.
- the filaments (2-2 ') are capable of including a coating based on an air freshener product.
- these filaments (2-2 ') are likely to include a coating based on a thermochromatic paint, that is to say that it changes color when it comes into contact with the urine, especially designed so that the little ones learn to use the toilet correctly .
- the arm (4 '), attachable and detachable from frame (1) through the box (3) could have a "C" configuration, in order to have the function of an applicator element, that is, that it was only used to facilitate the maneuvers of placement and removal of the frame (1) on the inside of the toilet stably.
- Said frame assembly (1) and filaments (2) can adopt different configurations than the oval, since the geometry of the toilets can be very diverse, without affecting the essence of the invention.
- the frame (1) may incorporate a series of end holes (9) on its upper face, in which a disinfectant and / or flavoring gel (10) is established, preferably in a solid state, which gradually dissolves with the water poured by the toilet, improving its hygiene.
- the whole device could be coated with a film of non-stick material that prevents fouling of the device.
- the device may be obtained in photo-luminescent materials that facilitate its visibility in poor light conditions, as well as in biodegradable materials, such as based on water-soluble cardboard and the like, in order to its withdrawal is not necessary once used.
