The object of the present invention is a novel endotracheal intubation system that allows remote manipulation of the distal end by means of an element that is managed by the anesthetist outside the pharyngeal area of the patient to be intubated.
Antecedentes de la invención Background of the invention
Currently, almost all surgical interventions performed in a hospital are performed under general, regional or local anesthesia, although it is true that most of them are performed under general anesthesia. To general anesthetize a patient, it is necessary to induce a state of controlled unconsciousness that needs artificial ventilation with the help of an external respirator. For this artificial respiration to be effective it is essential that there is a circuit and a connection between respirator and the patient. The aforementioned circuit requires that the connection with the patient be made through a tube, called the endotracheal tube, which is housed inside the patient's airways.
The introduction of the endotracheal tube, which is done with the help of an instrument that allows the visualization of the oral and pharyngeal structures called the laryngoscope, is called intubation.
On rare occasions, between 1% and 4% of cases, the visualization of the glottis and the larynx is difficult due to the different anatomical and physical characteristics of the patient, so that the introduction of the endotracheal tube is performed "blindly" and often it becomes impossible. This circumstance implies, in the daily practice of surgical anesthesia, an absolute risk to the patient's life, and the vast majority of complications considered serious or resulting in death during the performance of an anesthesia, are associated with a problem. related to the airways and the impossibility of supplying oxygen to the patient. Most of the existing solutions to improve the technique of intubation, have gone for the improvement in the visualization of these anatomical structures, either by direct observation with a small camera, such as the fibrobronchoscope or the fibrolaringoscope, or by the creation of different devices, called supraglotics because they are placed above that of the glottis that is the gateway to the trachea, which facilitate placement " blindly "of the same and that ensure an effective administration of oxygen. But none of these solutions would enter beyond the vocal cords, but before them, so that the circuit between the respirator and the patient's respiratory tree would not be tight and in case of vomiting the bronchoaspiration could not be prevented, so feared in anesthesia These devices therefore pose a problem for patient safety since they do not keep the airways secured or stagnant.
Descripción de la invención Description of the invention
Breve descripción de la figura The magnetization endotracheal intubation device, object of the present invention, is one of those comprising an endotracheal tube that is inserted into the patient's airways, consists of a magnet, which is intended to be manipulated by the anesthetist outside the neck of the patient at the level of the pharynx and larynx, and in a metallic element arranged at the distal end of the endotracheal tube. Brief description of the figure
Realización preferente Figure 1: shows an elevation view of the invention. Preferred embodiment
Figure 1 shows a preferred embodiment of the magnetization endotracheal intubation device, which is one of those comprising an endotracheal tube (1) that is inserted into the patient's airways, and consisting of a magnet (2), which is intended to be manipulated by the anesthesiologist on the outside of the neck at the level of the pharynx and larynx, and in a metal element (3) arranged at the distal end of the endotracheal tube (1). With the main objective of avoiding injury to the patient with an excessively hard element, preventing its deterioration and that the union of the metallic element to the tube is very simple, the metallic element can be arranged inside the distal end of the endotracheal tube and that can be covered by the same material from which the aforementioned endotracheal tube is made. As it is foreseeable when approaching the magnet, which can be incorporated in an ergonomically shaped support to facilitate its handling, the metallic element is attracted by said magnet, facilitating its orientation and approximation, which allows a safe insertion and a tight circuit that avoids and prevent possible problems for the patient's life.
