- LTE Long Term Evolution
- D2D communication technology may be classified into discovery between devices and communication between devices.
- a terminal-to-device discovery is a series of devices in which one terminal identifies the identity or interest of other terminals in its proximity, or informs other terminals located in the proximity of their identity or interest. Means the process of.
- the identity and interest may be an identifier (ID), an application identifier, or a service identifier of the terminal, and may be variously configured according to a D2D service and an operation scenario.
- the terminal-to-terminal communication is a communication method of directly transmitting traffic between terminals without passing through an infrastructure such as a base station or an access point (AP).
- the terminal-to-terminal communication may be performed without performing the inter-terminal discovery process (ie, with the discovered terminals) or performing the inter-terminal discovery process based on the result.
- the terminal-to-device discovery process is required may vary depending on the D2D service and operation scenario.
- D2D service scenarios can be broadly classified into commercial services, or non public safety services, and public safety services. Each service can contain a myriad of use cases, but representative non-public safety services (commercial services) include advertising, social network services, and games, and public safety services. For example Disaster Network Services.
- Both inter-device discovery and inter-device communication may be performed in an uplink subframe of LTE. That is, the D2D transmitter of the UE transmits the D2D discovery signal and data for D2D communication in an uplink subframe, and the D2D receiver receives the D2D discovery signal and data for D2D communication in an uplink subframe.
- the operation of the D2D transceiver is performed by the transceiver that performs the existing LTE operation. Is different.
- a terminal that does not support the D2D function requires an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) based receiver to receive downlink data and control information from the base station, and the terminal transmits uplink data and control information to the base station.
- OFDM orthogonal frequency division multiplexing
- SC-FDM single carrier-frequency division multiplexing
- a terminal supporting a D2D function (hereinafter, referred to as a D2D terminal) must support both a cellular mode and a D2D mode, the D2D data and control information are received through an uplink together with an OFDM-based receiver and an SC-FDM-based transmitter. A separate SC-FDM receiver is needed for this purpose.
- 1 is a diagram for explaining a D2D communication method in LTE.
- LTE D2D defines two types of search methods between terminals according to resource allocation methods.
- Type 1 discovery The base station 100 provides an uplink resource pool available for D2D discovery through a system information block (SIB) to all the D2D terminals 105 and 110 in the cell it manages. Broadcast. In this case, the base station 100 may inform the size (eg, x consecutive subframes) of the resources available for D2D and the period of the resources (eg, repeat every y seconds).
- the D2D transmitting terminals (eg, 105) receiving the transmission transmit a D2D discovery signal by selecting a resource to be used in a distributed manner. Meanwhile, the D2D receiving terminals (eg, 110) receive the D2D discovery signal transmitted from the resource pool included in the SIB information.
- SIB system information block
- Type 2 discovery The base station 100 informs the pool of discovery signal resources that the D2D receiving terminals (eg, 110) should receive through the SIB. Meanwhile, the base station may schedule the discovery signal resource for the D2D transmitting terminals (eg, 105). In this case, the scheduling of the base station 100 may be performed through a semi-persistent method or a dynamic method.
- the communication method between terminals may be classified into two types according to resource allocation as in the discovery method between terminals.
- Mode 1 The base station 100 may directly inform a data transmission resource for D2D communication to be used by the D2D transmitting terminal 105.
- Mode 2 The base station 100 informs the pool of resources that can be used by the D2D transmitting terminal 105, and the D2D transmitting terminal 105 can select and transmit resources in a corresponding resource pool.
- D2D communication has the main purpose of recognizing the demands of communication between people, communication between people and things, preventing unnecessary waste of radio resources, and determining and servicing appropriately generated traffic. . Therefore, research on D2D communication focuses on a method for efficiently operating a D2D discovery process in which a plurality of devices broadcast and receive information about a service and / or content around.
- a carrier aggregation (CA) technology that uses a plurality of frequency resources to communicate is used.
- CA technology in the present specification is applicable to the operation of the form using the existing cellular communication and D2D communication at the same time.
- the present invention may be utilized in operations between cellular communication and D2D communication as well as D2D communication.
- a base station may be referred to as a subject that communicates with a terminal, for example, a BS, a base transceiver station (BTS), a NodeB (NB), an eNodB (eNB), an access point (AP), or the like.
- a user equipment is an entity that communicates with a base station, and may also be referred to as a UE, a device, a mobile station (MS), a mobile equipment (ME), a terminal, or the like. have.
- a terminal may perform cellular (for example, Wide Area Networks (WAN), hereinafter referred to as WAN for convenience) communication, D2D communication, or D2D communication and D2D communication in multiple frequency resources.
- WAN Wide Area Networks
- D2D communication or D2D communication and D2D communication in multiple frequency resources.
- Table 1 The number of can be summarized as shown in Table 1 below.
- a carrier means a frequency in which WAN communication and D2D communication are operated.
- the above table is for an example of two carrier situations but it can be interpreted to be extended even in two or more carrier combination situations.
- Case 1 is a case in which a UE transmits a WAN signal in Carrier1 and a D2D signal in Carrier2.
- a UE since the total transmission power that the UE can use for transmission is limited, how to distribute it to each transmission becomes a problem.
- the transmission timing of the WAN signal and the transmission timing of the D2D signal are not the same.
- the transmission priority can be regarded as being in WAN transmission. Therefore, it may be assumed that the transmission power and the transmission timing of the WAN signal are not adjusted or changed by the D2D signal transmission.
- Option 1 may have the least impact on D2D signal transmission, but there is difficulty in power control in symbol units, and there is a problem when timing of WAN signal and D2D signal transmission are not the same. have.
- the method 2 is a method considering the difficulty of power control in symbol units in the method 1, and is preferable when the difference between the timing of the WAN signal and the D2D signal transmission is not large.
- D2D signal transmission does not use TA (Time Adjustment) in WAN uplink (UL) (Note: D2D signal transmission follows TA of WAN UL or WAN downlink (DL) Timing can be followed), which can cause WAN signal transmission problems with different transmission timings.
- the third method is to reduce the transmission power of the D2D signal in two subframes in consideration of the TA of the WAN signal transmission and the WAN signal transmission.
- Tx WAN UL transmission
- Tx D2D transmission
- WAN UL transmission applies TA in UL and D2D transmission operates according to DL timing. It is a figure which shows.
- the D2D transmission should perform a power reduction operation not only in subframe Y but also in subframe X. .
- FIG. 3 is a flowchart illustrating an example in which a UE performs WAN transmission and D2D transmission using a plurality of frequency resources, based on the schemes 1 to 3 above.
- the UE may determine that WAN transmission and D2D transmission may overlap at different carriers. For example, the terminal may check whether the WAN transmission overlaps with the D2D transmission based on the scheduling information.
- the terminal may determine whether the WAN transmission and the D2D transmission timing match. If it does not match, in step 310, the UE can determine whether the degree of inconsistency between the WAN transmission and the D2D transmission is above or above an acceptable level. The tolerance may be a preset time value. If the degree of inconsistency between the WAN transmission and the D2D transmission is greater than or greater than the allowable level, the terminal may not perform the D2D transmission in step 315. This is because the degree of inconsistency between the WAN transmission and the D2D transmission is greater than the allowable degree, but if the D2D transmission is performed, the orthogonality of the WAN transmission signal may be damaged.
- the terminal may determine whether transmission power control in symbol units is possible in step 320. If possible, the UE may perform D2D transmission power reduction during a period where the WAN transmission and the D2D transmission overlap in step 325.
- the UE may determine whether a section where the WAN transmission and the D2D transmission overlap in step 330 corresponds to a plurality of subframes. If the section where the WAN transmission overlaps with the D2D transmission corresponds to a plurality of subframes, the UE may perform D2D transmission power reduction on the corresponding plurality of subframes in step 335. If the interval in which the WAN transmission and the D2D transmission overlap is not a plurality of subframes, the UE may reduce the D2D transmission power to the corresponding subframe as well as adjacent subframes affecting the WAN transmission in step 340.
- the reduced D2D transmission power based on the above embodiment should be less than or equal to the remaining power except the WAN transmission power in the total transmittable power.
- the method 4 occurs because the methods 1, 2, and 3 have to adjust the D2D transmission power according to the UL TX condition of the WAN, so that the power of the D2D transmission is performed in a fast cycle according to the scheduling condition of the WAN. This is to solve the difficulty. Therefore, in Method 4, a method of previously determining a D2D transmit power value in a multi-carrier D2D situation regardless of the UL transmission state of the WAN is proposed.
- such D2D transmission power reduction may not be performed in a section in which there may be no UL transmission of the WAN for a long time.
- the terminal since UL transmission of the WAN is determined through a scheduling request (SR) of the terminal, the terminal may not perform the D2D transmission power reduction operation when the SR has not transmitted the SR for the WAN transmission to the base station. .
- SR scheduling request
- the D2D transmission may not be performed when the time difference becomes more than a predetermined value. This is because orthogonality of the WAN transmission signal may be compromised.
- the terminal does not support multiple TAs operations, the terminal does not perform D2D transmission.
- FIG. 4 is a flowchart illustrating an example in which a UE performs WAN transmission and D2D transmission using a plurality of frequency resources, based on the scheme 4 above.
If it does not match, the terminal can determine whether the degree of inconsistency between the WAN transmission and the D2D transmission is above or above an acceptable level in step 410.
- the tolerance may be a preset time value. If the degree of inconsistency between the WAN transmission and the D2D transmission is greater than or greater than the allowable level, the UE may not perform the D2D transmission in step 415. This is because the degree of inconsistency between the WAN transmission and the D2D transmission is greater than the allowable degree, but if the D2D transmission is performed, the orthogonality of the WAN transmission signal may be damaged.
- the terminal may perform the D2D transmission power reduction in step 420.
- the UE may perform D2D transmission power reduction regardless of whether WAN transmission and D2D transmission overlap. .
- the UE may determine whether to transmit a scheduling request for WAN transmission to the base station in step 425. Since not transmitting the scheduling request for the WAN transmission to the base station means that the WAN transmission is not performed, the terminal may recover the reduced D2D transmission power in step 430. According to various embodiments of the present disclosure, the terminal may recover the reduced D2D transmission power when the scheduling request for WAN transmission is not transmitted to the base station for a predetermined period. If the scheduling request for WAN transmission is transmitted to the base station later, the terminal may perform D2D transmission power reduction again.
- the terminal may check whether the scheduling of the base station allocates the WAN transmission resource at a time other than the D2D transmission interval in step 435. If the WAN transmission resources are allocated to the section overlapping with the D2D transmission section, the D2D transmission power will be continuously reduced. If the WAN transmission resources are allocated at the time point other than the D2D transmission section, the terminal is reduced as shown in step 430. D2D transmit power can be recovered. For example, the base station may transmit signaling to the terminal indicating that the WAN transmission resource is allocated to the SR of the terminal at a time other than the D2D transmission interval. When the terminal receives the signaling from the base station, the terminal may recover the reduced D2D transmission power.
- Case 2 is a case where the UE receives a D2D signal in Carrier2 while transmitting a WAN signal in Carrier1.
- WAN signal components transmitted by the UE are mixed with D2D signals received by the UE (self-interference problem, full duplexing problem, etc.).
- the carrier for transmitting the WAN signal and the carrier for transmitting the D2D signal exist on the same frequency band, the WAN transmission signal may not affect the same carrier but may also affect a carrier receiving the D2D reception signal. Therefore, Case 2 operation may be possible only when the transmit power of the WAN signal is adjusted or when the carrier through which the WAN signal is transmitted is separated from the carrier through which the D2D signal is received.
- the transmission of the WAN signal has a priority compared to the D2D, it is difficult to reduce the transmission power of the WAN transmission signal, and in this case, it is preferable not to use the multi-carrier operation with the D2D carrier.
- the transmission power of the actual WAN signal may change (depending on the power control (PC) in the WAN).
- PC power control
- multi-carrier D2D may be considered.
- the terminal may determine whether to operate the multi-carrier D2D in consideration of the PC situation of the WAN transmission signal.
- the CA combination that enables multi-carrier D2D operation is determined in advance and operates only in that combination. It may also be possible.
- Case 3 is a case where a UE transmits a D2D signal in Carrier2 while receiving a WAN signal in Carrier1. It is similar to the operation in the FDD situation in the current WAN communication and has no particular problem.
- Case 4 is a case where the UE receives a D2D signal from Carrier2 while receiving a WAN signal from Carrier1.
- the operating assumption may vary depending on the type of the D2D signal. That is, it may be assumed that simultaneous reception is possible in case of communication (for public safety), and simultaneous reception may not be possible in case of discovery (for non-public safety). That is, in this case, if the priority of such an operation and the terminal capability (capability) accordingly are determined, there is no special issue.
- Cases 5 to 7 to be discussed below relate to a problem that may occur when performing D2D transmission or reception using a plurality of frequencies and a solution thereof.
- a problem of transmission power may occur
- a self-interference problem may occur.
- the reception time may be problematic because there is only one receiving module.
- determining the priority of the D2D communication provided from each carrier when performing D2D transmission or reception using a plurality of frequencies, determining the priority of the D2D communication provided from each carrier, and determining the D2D transmission power based on the priority. It features.
- the priority of the D2D communication may be determined based on, for example, the service usage of the D2D communication provided by each carrier or based on the signaling of the base station. High transmission power for high priority D2D communication may be set. However, such transmit power determination should be considered within the limited overall transmit power range.
- the D2D reception time through each carrier is set differently, or the priority of the D2D communication is determined to prioritize the D2D signal having high priority. Can be received.
- Case 5 is a case where a UE transmits a D2D signal in Carrier1 while simultaneously transmitting a D2D signal in Carrier2.
- D2D transmission is performed using a plurality of carriers. The following scenarios are possible.
- the use of D2D communication service can be largely divided into public safety service and non-public safety service.
- a case of performing each service for each carrier may be considered.
- the priority of the public safety service may be higher than that of the non-public safety service, for example.
- the limited transmission power needs to be allocated to the carrier used for the public safety service more preferentially.
- the transmission power of D2D operation for public safety with high priority may be adjusted at least in part.
- the UE may determine the transmit power to be used in each carrier through a value indicated through a predetermined value or SIB information from the base station or dedicated RRC signaling.
- a predetermined value to the terminal or a value indicated by the base station may include D2D transmission power information for each priority, or may include D2D transmission power information for each D2D service use.
- the dedicated public safety carrier may be a carrier for performing public safety related communication through D2D communication regardless of a specific communication provider. All terminals can perform public safety related D2D communication through the corresponding carrier.
- it may be determined that communication in a dedicated public safety carrier is more preferable than a D2D carrier of a subscribed telecommunications carrier. (However, if the carrier in the subscribed carrier is instructed to have a priority, the priority should be taken into account accordingly.)
- the UE may also define a predefined or signaling from the base station (SIB or dedicated RRC). Signaling), it is necessary to adjust the D2D transmit power value in each carrier.
- Case1 Four schemes in Case1 may be applied to a section for performing such power control.
- WAN transmission having priority in Case 1 may be regarded as a case of dedicated public safety or public safety related signal transmission in D2D transmission.
- D2D communication is divided into communication (communication) and discovery (discovery) in general, communication can be used for public safety, discovery can be used for non-public safety.
- communication communication
- discovery can be used for non-public safety.
- the problem is that the definition of this case is necessary because communication and discovery signals can have different transmission timings (based on UL TA or DL timing). For example, since communication for public safety may be considered to have higher priority, transmission timing on the carrier should be considered first. Therefore, when the transmission timing of the non-public safety-related signal is different from the transmission timing of the public safety-related signal by more than a predetermined value, the transmission of the non-public safety-related signal may not be performed.
- FIG. 5 is a flowchart illustrating an example in which the UE performs D2D transmission using a plurality of frequency resources, based on Case 5.
- FIG. 5 is a flowchart illustrating an example in which the UE performs D2D transmission using a plurality of frequency resources, based on Case 5.
- the UE may confirm that D2D transmission may occur at a time point when the plurality of carriers overlap. For example, the terminal may determine whether D2D transmissions on the plurality of carriers overlap based on the scheduling information.
- the terminal may determine whether a priority exists in D2D transmission for each carrier.
- the priority may be determined based on, for example, the service usage of the D2D communication provided in each carrier or based on the signaling of the base station.
- the UE may determine whether an indication of D2D transmission power is received from the base station in step 510. If the UE receives an indication of the D2D transmission power from the base station, the UE may determine the D2D transmission power for each carrier according to the priority based on the indication received in step 515. The indication may include D2D transmit power information for each priority or D2D transmit power information for each D2D service purpose. If the UE does not receive an indication of the D2D transmission power from the base station, the UE may determine the D2D transmission power for each carrier based on the priority in step 520.
- the terminal may determine D2D transmission power for each carrier according to the priority based on preset transmission power information, or calculate D2D transmission power for each carrier according to the priority based on the limited total transmission power. . In this case, higher transmission power may be allocated to D2D transmission having high priority.
- the UE may determine whether an indication of the D2D transmission power is received from the base station in step 525. If the UE receives an indication of the D2D transmission power from the base station, the UE may determine the D2D transmission power for each carrier based on the indication received in step 530.
- the indication may include, for example, D2D transmit power information for each carrier or D2D transmit power information for each D2D service use. If the UE does not receive an indication of the D2D transmission power from the base station, the UE may determine, for example, the same D2D transmission power for each carrier in step 535.
- Case 6 is a case where a UE receives a D2D signal from Carrier2 while transmitting a D2D signal from Carrier1. In this case, three scenarios can be considered.
- Scenario 1 Two D2D Carriers in the Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) of the UE
- Scenario 2 There is one D2D carrier in the PLMN of the UE, but additionally there is a dedicated D2D carrier independent of PLMN.
- Scenario 3 There is one D2D carrier in one PLMN and the terminal wants to receive a D2D signal in another PLMN
- Scenario 1 is a case where two D2D carriers exist in the same PLMN, one carrier transmits a D2D signal, and the other carrier receives a D2D signal.
- the transmission signal affects its received signal.
- the operation may vary depending on the purpose of the D2D service being performed in each carrier. If the transmitted signal is a public safety related signal and the received signal is a non-public safety related signal, it is not desirable to reduce the transmission power of the transmitted signal because it is determined that the transmitted signal has priority. On the contrary, it may be necessary to reduce the power of the transmitted signal. In this case, the transmission power of the transmission signal may be determined in consideration of the interval between carriers to a level that will not affect the received signal.
- the transmit power of the transmitted signal is greater than the SINR (Signal to Noise Ratio) value that can be received according to a reception state (eg, a modulation & coding scheme (MCS) of the received signal). Can be adjusted to a level that does not make the SINR value low.
- SINR Signal to Noise Ratio
- MCS modulation & coding scheme
- the transmission power value may be predetermined or may be received from the base station through information such as SIB.
- Scenario 2 is a case where the UE performs transmission and reception even on a dedicated D2D carrier irrelevant to the PLMN while the UE performs transmission and reception on one D2D carrier in its PLMN.
- the operation on the dedicated D2D carrier has a higher priority because the operation is basically a public safety-related operation. (However, if the base station receives an instruction that the carrier in the PLMN has a priority, the priority should be considered accordingly.)
- the terminal gives priority to the operation in the carrier having a high priority.
- the operation on the high priority carrier is transmission, adjust the transmission power accordingly (e.g., do not perform power reduction or at an unaffected level), and if the operation on the high priority carrier is reception, transmit operation. It is possible to adjust the transmission power of the carrier to the extent that does not affect the reception operation.
- These adjustment values may use a predetermined value or a value delivered through signaling through an SIB from a base station.
- Scenario 3 is a case where a UE receives a D2D signal through a D2D carrier in another PLMN while performing D2D transmission in the PLMN to which it belongs. It is assumed that the reception of the D2D signal may be possible even for the PLMN to which it does not belong. In this case, it is important to prevent the D2D reception signal on another PLMN from being interfered by its own transmission signal. Also in this case, the priority according to the service usage of D2D communication operated in each PLMN may be important in operation. If the D2D transmission operation in its own PLMN is for non-public stabilization and the D2D operation to be received through another PLMN is for public safety purposes, the transmit power value in the D2D transmission operation can be adjusted. In this case, the parameters for power control may be made through SIB or dedicated RRC signaling from the base station or may be determined to a predetermined value.
- FIG. 6 is a flowchart illustrating an example in which a UE performs D2D transmission and reception using a plurality of frequency resources, based on Case 6.
- FIG. 6 is a flowchart illustrating an example in which a UE performs D2D transmission and reception using a plurality of frequency resources, based on Case 6.
- the UE may determine that D2D transmission and reception in a plurality of carriers may occur. For example, the terminal may determine whether D2D transmission and reception overlap with each other based on the scheduling information.
- the UE may determine whether the D2D transmission / reception is for the same PLMN. If not for the same PLMN, the terminal may determine the D2D transmission power based on the priority according to the service provided by each carrier in step 610. For example, when data communication is made for different PLMNs, public safety related signals may have higher priority than non-public safety related signals.
- the UE may determine whether data transmission and reception through a dedicated D2D carrier (eg, a dedicated public safety carrier) is additionally performed in step 615. If data transmission / reception is performed through the dedicated D2D carrier, the UE may give higher priority than the D2D communication operation for the PLMN to which the PLMN belongs to the communication on the dedicated D2D carrier, and the D2D may be based on the priority.
- the transmission power can be determined.
- the terminal may determine whether the D2D communication interval for each carrier can be differently selected in step 625. If possible, the UE may perform D2D transmission and reception by selecting different communication intervals for each carrier in step 630. In this case, since the D2D data transmission and reception time points do not overlap, transmission power problems and interference problems may not occur. If it is impossible to select a different D2D communication interval for each carrier, the UE may perform D2D transmission / reception by determining D2D transmission power based on a priority according to a service provided for each carrier in step 635. For example, a public safety related signal may have a higher priority than a non public safety related signal.
- Case 7 is a case where the UE receives a D2D signal from Carrier2 while receiving a D2D signal from Carrier1.
- the UE may switch one D2D receiving module and receive a D2D signal for each carrier so that the reception time of the D2D signal in each carrier is different.
- This scenario is generally an issue that can occur between Inter-PLMN.
- the problem may be solved by setting a different time for D2D operation in each PLMN.
- the D2D signal having a high priority may be preferentially received.
- information on the priority of the D2D operation in each carrier should be known to the UE, which may be based on service usage of D2D communication for each carrier or based on signaling from a base station.
- the signaling from the base station may inform the type of D2D service for each carrier or deliver an indication for a carrier having a priority in a multi-carrier operation.
