Definitions
- the invention relates to swimming goggles that allow breathing during the practice of surface swimming without removing the head from the water.
- Various types of swimming goggles are also known in the state of the art that incorporate a tube or snorkel that is attached to the spectacle by means of some fixing system and that allow the entry of air from the outside to the mouth while swimming .
- these sets of glasses and snorkel do not allow breathing through the nose, this being adequate natural breathing, since the air inhaled through this airway reaches the lungs after nasal filtration, which does not occur when breathing through the mouth .
- the present invention aims to achieve swimming goggles that allow comfortable nasal breathing without removing the head from the water while surface swimming is practiced. Additionally, at least some preferred embodiment must be able to provide a healthy mouth breath, in addition to the nasal. It is also the object of the invention to obtain glasses of reduced dimensions, limited weight and simple operation for the common user who practices swimming.
- the object of the invention is swimming goggles that allow nasal breathing without removing the head from the water to inspire the air, which, like certain conventional glasses, comprise at least one lens intended to be arranged on the eyes of a user who uses them and a built-in snorkel.
- the glasses according to the invention have the particularity that they comprise a protector, which comprises the lenses and a nasal coating.
- the glasses according to the invention are such that, when placed on the user's face, a vision space between the lenses and the user's eyes is delimited, and an air passage space between the inner face of the nasal lining and the user's nose.
- the air passage space is separated from the viewing space by at least one separator element.
- the lower end of the snorkel penetrates inside the protector and communicates with the air passage space, allowing the outside air, which enters through the upper end of the snorkel, to reach the inside of the nasal lining. .
- the glasses according to the invention allow healthy natural breathing through the nose to a user, submerged in the water in a horizontal position, without having to take the head out of the water to breathe.
- the fact that the glasses according to the invention allow to lie down easily and breathe easily makes it possible to practice shallow swimming to users who have difficulties in coordinating the body movements necessary for the activity, mainly of arms and legs, with head turns to make breathing possible
- adult or elderly users can benefit that do not master the technique or that have health problems: for these reasons they tend to adopt rigid postures which cause that, instead of obtaining the beneficial effect that this sports practice pursues, they suffer a rapid exhaustion or discomfort that frequently results in the abandonment of activity.
- the swimming goggles according to the invention the user can focus on exercise and coordination of movements by not having to worry about breathing.
- the swimming goggles comprise a mouth respirator, which communicates with the air passage space, allowing the air contained inside the nasal lining to reach the user's mouth. This makes oral breathing possible in addition to the nasal breathing.
- the mouth respirator also incorporates an evacuation element designed to allow the exhaled air to escape from the mouth and to prevent it from being redirected towards the breathing tube. In this way the exhaled air does not mix with the inlet air allowing an equally healthy breathing also through the mouth.
- the protector has upper and lower holes through which the breathing tube and the nasal lining are connected separately. Said holes can be covered by means of two closing elements in case the respirator tube and the mouth respirator are not present.
- the glasses thus obtained constitute a device with removable components, small dimensions and simple operation for the common user who practices surface swimming. Brief description of the figures
- Figure 1 shows a front perspective of a mode of realization of swimming goggles, according to the invention.
- FIG. 1 shows a side perspective of the glasses depicted in Figure 1.
- FIG. 3 is a view of section A-A marked on the
- FIG. 1 detailing the placement of the swimming goggles on the user's face.
- FIG. 4 shows a perspective of the glasses of Figure 1 when the two separable components, the snorkel and the mouthpiece are not present.
- Figures 1 and 2 respectively show a front and side perspective of an embodiment of the glasses according to the invention that allow breathing while practicing surface swimming without removing the head from the water.
- the swimming goggles (1) comprise the following components: at least one lens (2) intended to be arranged on the user's eyes (3), a snorkel (4) and a protector (5) comprising the lenses (2) and further comprising a nasal lining (6).
- the protector (5) of the swimming goggles (1) specifically comprises two lenses (2) between which the nasal lining (6) is located.
- the arrangement of the elements (4, 5, 6, 2) is such that when the swimming goggles (1) are placed on the user's face, a viewing space is delimited (7) between the lenses (2) and the eyes (3) of the user and an air passage space (8) between the inner face (6a) of the nasal lining (6) and the nose (9) of the user and separated from the viewing space (7) by means of a separating element (10) included in the protector (5).
- the separating element (10) is a partition that is part of the protector's own structure (5) and is in contact with the user's face.
- the lower end of the snorkel (4) penetrates inside the protector (5) and communicates with the air passage space (8). In this way, the outside air that penetrates through the upper end of the snorkel (4) expands to the inside of the nasal lining (6).
- the swimming goggles (1) shown in Figures 1 to 3, allow a natural, healthy and therapeutic breathing and comfortable for the user, since the air reaches the lungs through the nostrils from the air passage space (8) comprised inside the nasal lining (6) without turning the head while swimming. Additionally and thanks to the separation between the viewing space (7) and the air passage space (8) it is also possible to avoid fogging of the lenses (2) by the air that penetrates through the breathing tube (4) in a simple way and without subtracting lightness to the swimming goggles (1).
- the snorkel (4) adopts the necessary curvature so that its upper end protrudes over the surface of the water above the swimmer's head.
- the snorkel (4) has at least some flexible section (1 1) in the form of an accordion that gives the swimming goggles (1) according to the invention a great adaptability Said flexible section (1 1) allows the breathing tube (4) to be inclined in any direction thus adapting to the head of different users.
- the extension and compression of the flexible section (1 1) allows the length of the breathing tube (4) to be varied, also adapting to different ways of swimming with the head in a more or less submerged position.
- the snorkel (4) will have a length not exceeding 25 cm, the flexible section (11) being fully compressed. This allows swimming goggles (1) to be optimal for swimming in surface.
- the swimming goggles (1) comprise a mouth respirator (12) that communicates with the air passage space (8) allowing the air contained inside the nasal lining (6) can reach the user's mouth.
- the mouth respirator (12) comprises an evacuation element (13) intended to allow the exhaled air to escape mouth and prevent it from being redirected to the snorkel (4).
- the swimming goggles (1) according to the invention constitute a system that allows integral breathing through the nose and mouth.
- the evacuation element (13) comprises a valve (14) that closes automatically and hermetically, due to the effect of the pressure of the external water , at the moment when the expulsion of the air exhaled through the mouth ceases. This prevents exhaled air from being inhaled again.
- the protector (5) has an upper hole (15) through which the breathing tube (4) is detachably connected. This allows the snorkel tube (4) to be removed from the rest of the swimming goggles (1) for cleaning and subsequent storage.
- the mounting and connection mechanism of the snorkel (4) to the protector (5) can be of various types, for example bayonet type.
- the swimming goggles (1) comprise a closure element (17) to cover said upper hole (15) in case the respirator tube (4) is not present.
- Said closing element (17) allows the use of swimming goggles (1) without incorporating the tube respirator (4).
- the closure element (17) is a plug.
- the nasal lining (6) has a lower opening (16) through which the oral respirator (12) is detachably connected. This makes it possible to disassemble the mouthpiece (12) from the rest of the swimming goggles (1).
- the assembly and connection of the oral respirator (12) to the nasal lining (6) can be of various types, for example bayonet type.
- the swimming goggles (1) comprise a second closure element (18) to cover the lower hole (16) in case the mouth respirator (12) is not present, which allows the use of swimming goggles (1 ) without incorporating the mouth respirator (12).
- the closure element (18) is a plug.
- the swimming goggles (1) according to the invention constitute a simple, light and manageable equipment, to allow a non-specialized user, or who simply wishes to practice swimming in a non-professional manner, swimming by breathing through the nose or mouth.
- the fact that the snorkel (4) and the mouthpiece (12) are separable also allows, when the snorkel (4) and the mouthpiece (12) are removed and the upper holes (15) closed ) and lower (16) by means of the closure elements (17, 18) provided for this purpose, the swimming goggles (1) according to the invention can be transformed into a conventional simple swimming goggle.
