Abstract

The invention relates to a method for preparing an odorant composition from which an odor emanates, in particular an aroma, from a target odor O and a set of j bases (B1 to Bj), in which the target odor is smelled and the bases are mixed in appropriate amounts by weight in order to produce the odorant composition. Said method is characterized in that the determination of the respective amounts by weight of the bases (B1 to Bj) to be mixed is carried out according to the following steps: a) after having smelled the target odor O, an olfactory intensity (o1 to on) is assigned to each of the odor descriptors of a predetermined set of n odor descriptors (D1 to Dn); and b) the respective amounts by weight of the bases (B1 to Bj) to be mixed in order to produce the odorant composition are calculated from the assigned olfactory intensities (o1 to on). The invention also relates to an aid for preparing an odorant composition, as well as to a device for preparing an odorant composition.
