L'invention concerne un dispositif d'affichage à cristaux liquides qui commute de façon cyclique les caractéristiques gamma de sous-pixels, les premier à quatrième sous-pixels étant respectivement les première à quatrième couleurs ; la fonction de luminosité est plus élevée pour les première et seconde couleurs que pour les troisième et quatrième couleurs ; le motif d'après lequel les caractéristiques gamma des premiers sous-pixels sont commutées et le motif d'après lequel les caractéristiques gamma des seconds sous-pixels sont commutées sont identiques ; et dans une trame donnée, la polarité du signal de données fourni aux premiers sous-pixels et la polarité du signal de données fourni aux seconds sous-pixels sont différentes. Cette configuration permet d'améliorer le papillotement dans ce dispositif d'affichage à cristaux liquides.
