Abstract
본 발명은 안전성 향상을 위한 분리막을 포함하는 전극조립체 및 이를 포함하는 리튬 이차전지에 대한 것으로, 보다 구체적으로는 양극, 음극 및 분리막을 포함하는 전극조립체에 있어서, 상기 분리막 표면에 코팅되어, 특정 전압에서 전기분해하여 가스를 발생시키는 기체화물질을 포함하는 전극조립체 및 이를 포함하는 리튬 이차전지에 대한 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 전극조립체 및 이를 포함하는 리튬 이차전지는 과충전 상태에서 전기분해하여 가스를 발생시키는 기체화물질을 포함함으로써 전지의 안전성을 향상시킴과 동시에, 상기 기체화물질을 전극이 아닌 분리막 표면에 코팅시킴으로써 저항 상승의 억제로 인한 전지 용량의 저하를 현저히 감소시켜, 전지의 수명특성이 우수하다.
