Description
"COMPOSITION FOR VEHICLE CARE"
DESCRIPTION
As it is known, in the field of cleaning and care of vehicles, in particular cars, trucks, articulated trucks, and public and private buses or vehicles adapted for rail transport, for example railway carriages, particular attention is dedicated to the steps relative to the use of products able to give the surface of the vehicles brilliance and shine.
In fact, a vehicle with a polished shiny appearance is more attractive, gives a general impression of greater cleanliness and more effectively withstands the accumulation of dust and dirt of various types on its surface.
Apart from personal vehicle care, there are commonly used systems for the cleaning and care of vehicles which comprise a series of standardised procedures and steps. Said systems are represented, for example, by car washes of manual, automated or semi-automated type, for motorcycles, cars or for industrial vehicles of larger dimensions such as trucks, articulated trucks and buses, in addition to automated or semi-automated wash systems for cleaning railway carriages.
For example, in the particular case of cars, a self-service car wash can be defined as a place purposely equipped for the cleaning and washing of vehicles. The structure of the system generally consists of modular areas: bays for washing the bodywork, area for cleaning the inside of the car and carpets and, lastly, a free space where motorists can carry out all internal cleaning operations and/or manual drying of the bodywork. Each bay is equipped with a pressure sprayer for all washing and rinsing operations, brush and coin-operated system with programming control unit for selecting the various wash types, which should preferably be carried out in sequence (prewash with warm water and detergent - wash with hot water and detergent - wash with brush - rinse with cold water, also demineralised - final pass with brightening and self-drying liquid). Each vacuuming area is equipped with a long handy tube with ergonomic nozzle for accessing even the most difficult points to reach, and container with carpet beating grille. Often vehicle care products and accessories can be bought at the car wash facility, and these are sometimes delivered by automatic dispensers
(detergent washcloths, products for cleaning and treatment of the vehicle, air fresheners in all sorts of fragrances) or dispensers for drinks and snacks while you wait. Car enthusiasts who wish to clean their cars personally, with maximum attention, also go to the car wash as they know they will be solely responsible for the washing and drying quality of their vehicle.
A problem is often represented by the fact that the above-mentioned final treatment with brightening and self-drying liquid does not provide the expected results, because it is not able to make the vehicle particularly brilliant and shiny, despite the effort put in and the preceding cleaning steps.
A further problem is represented by the fact that a non-polished surface on which a certain quantity of dust and dirt is deposited becomes unattractive much more rapidly than the same surface, with the same quantity of accumulated dirt, when it has been polished.
The object of the present invention, therefore, is to provide a composition for the cleaning and care of vehicles which allows a particularly polished and brilliant vehicle surface to be obtained, in particular when exposed to natural or artificial light.
This and further objects and relative advantages, which will be better illustrated in the following description, are achieved by a composition for the cleaning and care of vehicles which is soluble in water or in another polar substance which comprises at least one fluorescent UV product and water and/or at least one liquid miscible with water.
A further object of the present invention is the use of the above-mentioned composition for the cleaning and care of vehicles, in particular for final surface treatment following the vehicle washing steps.
More specifically, the composition according to the invention comprises fluorescein, pyranine or mixtures thereof as the fluorescent UV product, with fluorescein being particularly preferred.
The composition according to the present invention is particularly suitable for use as an additive for drying waxes or polish, i.e. those products that are dispersed on the
surface of vehicles, in particular cars, at the end of the washing and rinsing cycle, in particular in automatic and/or industrial cleaning systems.
In this case, the composition can be added to the products intended for final dispersion on the surface of the vehicles at the time of use, for example, in the car wash, or the product can be added during the production step, thus providing on the market a drying wax or polish product already comprising the composition according to the invention.
Use of the composition according to the invention is also advantageous in general as an additive for products intended for vehicle cleaning and care, in particular products intended for distribution on the surface of vehicles.
In practice, the composition according to the invention has the great advantage of containing at least one UV sensitive component. In this way, if used as an additive for waxes or polish for the care and cleaning of vehicles, it remains dispersed on the entire surface of the vehicle at the end of the vehicle cleaning operations. Once the vehicle is exposed to sunlight, the fluorescent UV substance will be able to give the entire surface of the vehicle a brilliance and a polish incomparable with the results obtained by the" traditional waxing and polishing operations.
Again according to the present invention, fluorescein is preferred as the fluorescent UV substance, for example the one currently marketed under the trade name fluorescein 310 by C.E.S.A Fragrances (Milan).
In general, for the production of the composition according to the invention, said fluorescent UV product is present in the composition in a quantity of between 1% and 5% per litre of detergent liquid (which can therefore consist of the drying wax or polish).
A concentration of 1.2% of fluorescein per litre of detergent liquid has proved to be particularly effective.
Again according to the present invention, the composition that comprises fluorescein in aqueous solution used as an additive at 1.2% per litre of wax or polish or other liquid for the cleaning or care of vehicles is particularly preferred.
With reference to the above description, an example of composition according to the invention, and its use in a wax intended for the final step in vehicle car wash systems, is given solely by way of non-limiting example.
EXAMPLE 1
Indicative composition of the drying wax
2-butoxyethanol 12.5% - 15%
Compounds of quaternary ammonium/benzyl C8-C18-alkyldimethyl
3% - 5%
Fatty acids, tall oil, compounds with N-tallow alkyl-trimethylethylenediamine
3% - 5%
To the wax, 1.2% of fluorescein is added per litre of wax for use as the final step over the entire surface of the car after washing, rinsing and the various cleaning steps.
The end product, for use on the surface of the vehicle, can contain other additives such as cationic surface-active agents, emulsifiers, solubilisers, solvents, oils, esters, and can be used, as already said, for drying the vehicles after they have been cleaned, washed and cleansed, and/or for polishing said vehicles, in the presence or absence of forced ventilation systems.
