Die Fig. 1 zeigt ein Hohlkammerprofil 1 , welches zur Herstellung von Fenster- oder Tür- Rahmen dient. Das Hohlkammerprofil 1 weist mehrere Hohlkammern 2, 2' auf und wird mittels eines Extrusionsverfahrens aus Kunststoff hergestellt. Zur Herstellung des Hohl- kammerprofils 1 wird Polyvinylchlorid verwendet, welches bei Bedarf bereichsweise oder vollständig aus faserverstärkt ausgebildet ist. Wie der Fig. 1 zu entnehmen ist, ist an bei einander gegenüberliegenden Innenseiten der Hohlkammer 2 jeweils ein die Hohlkammer 2 mechanisch verstärkendes Verstärkungsband 3 mit einer profilierten Kontur angeordnet. Die profilierte Kontur verleiht den Verstärkungsbändern 3 eine zusätzliche Funktion. Vorliegend sind die Verstärkungsbänder 3 derart ausgebildet, dass sie jeweils einen Schraubkanal zur Befestigung einer (nicht dargestellten) Schraube am Hohlkammerprofil 1 (angedeutet durch strichpunktierte Linien x) bilden. Die Verstärkungsbänder 3 weisen hierzu jeweils eine sägezahnartige Profilierung auf. Pro Zahn 4 werden hierdurch zwei Schnittebenen mit der Schraubachse x gebildet. Entsprechend liegen bereits durch das Vorsehen von zwei Zähnen 4 vier Schnittebenen mit der Schraubachse x vor, so dass beim Eindrehen der Schraube eine sichere Verankerung derselben am Hohlkammerprofil 1 erfolgt. Die Zahnspitzen sind unter Bildung von Zwischenstücken 5 abgeflacht ausgebildet. Ferner sind die Zähne 4 jeweils durch einen Zwischenabschnitt 6 voneinander beabstandet. Die mit den Verstärkungsbändern 3 versehene Hohlkammer in Fig. 1 weist einen ansonsten freien Querschnitt ohne Ausschäumung auf. Beim Ausführungsbeispiel gemäß Fig. 2 ist hingegen die entsprechende Hohlkammer 2 zusätzlich mit Schaummaterial 7 ausgeschäumt. Dieses Schaummaterial 7 besteht aus einem organischen Material mit niedriger Wärmeleitfähigkeit, im Ausführungsbeispiel Polyurethan. Die von den Zähnen 4 gemeinsam mit der Hohlkammerwandung gebildeten Hohlräume 8 sind frei von Schaummaterial 7. Darüber hinaus ist in Fig. 2 erkennbar, dass dort eine weitere Kammer 2' des Hohlkammerprofils 1 mit einer Ausschäumung versehen worden ist. Diese Hohlkammer 2' ist ebenfalls mit einem Verstärkungsband 3' versehen, welches jedoch keine Profilierung aufweist. Beim Ausschäum prozess dienen die Verstärkungsbänder 3, 3' nicht nur zur Armierung des hergestellten Profils 1 , sondern verhindern auch eine Deformation des Hohlkammerprofiles 1 während des Ausschäumprozesses, bei dem aufgrund der Expansion des Schaummaterials 7 sehr große Kräfte entstehen können. Im Ausführungsbeispiel gemäß Fig. 3 weist die Hohlkammerwandung eine Unterbrechung 9 zur Aufnahme des Verstärkungsbandes 3 auf. Wie dem vergrößerten Ausschnitt in Fig. 3 zu entnehmen ist, hintergreift das Verstärkungsband 3 die Unterbrechung 9. Das Verstärkungsband 3 ist hier symmetrisch ausgebildet und weist entsprechend zwei sägezahnartige Profilierungen auf. Alternativ kann jedoch auch ein asymmetrisches Verstärkungsband 3 - wie z.B. in Fig. 3 rechts dargestellt - in der Unterbrechung 9 aufgenommen sein.
