Abstract

A hair styling tool comprises a central roller (12) having end pieces (14) disposed around the outside of the roller and in which the outside surface (16) of the roller between the end pieces (14) has one or more dividers to form two or more segments (18,19) around the roller. In specific arrangements the roller is hollow and certain segments (19) have holes (30) through which hair treatment may be forced. The dye of other treatment is contained in a cylindrical recess (50) which is acted upon by a plunger (32); both of which are both contained in the roller (12), the action forces the dye from the cylindrical recess along a passage (36) formed inside the roller to the holes (30). As an alternative to placing hair treatment in a reservoir, the hair treatment may be in a pressurised canister which when released from the canister into the interior of the roller, forces its way through holes (30) into the segments (19); in a still further alternative, the hair treatment is forced through the holes as a result of foaming or the like caused by a reaction between the hair treatment and a catalyst.
