Abstract
The invention relates to a method for operating a mobile, electrical appliance (6), comprising at least one position finding unit, which can be used to determine the current position (1) of the appliance, at least one destination database, which stores destination-specific information with the geographical positions of the respective destination (2) at least one optical recording device, at least one direction finding unit, which can be used to determine the physical orientation of the optical recording device, at least one optical output device (7), at least one input unit, which can be used to record user inputs, and at least one memory unit, which can be used to stipulate and store a destination search radius (4); comprising the following method steps: a) the current position (1) is determined, the physical orientation of the recording device is determined and the destination search radius (4) is read; b) at least one geographical area (21) is determined on the basis of the orientation of the recording device and/or the current position (1) and the destination search radius (4); c) at least one destination (2) is filtered from at least one destination database, on the basis of the geographical position of the destinations relative to the at least one determined geographical area (21); d) at least one of the geographically filtered destinations (2) is filtered on the basis of the relevance of the filtered destinations (2) to the user by using at least one relevance criterion; e) graphical symbols (10, 12, 13, 13a, 15, 17) for the filtered destinations are produced or selected and customized, with the customization being effected by using at least one customization criterion; f) a graphical representation (8) is produced which comprises at least one optical recording by the recording device and at least one graphical symbol (10, 12, 13, 13a, 15, 17) for a destination, and the graphical representation (8) is output on the output device (7) of the appliance.
