Abstract

A system for managing an inventory comprising serialized products. A robot may be instructed to load a plurality of serialized product units to a plurality of robot-accessible bins such that each of the plurality of robot-accessible bins comprises no more than one serialized product unit. A computer system may receive from a requesting system, an order specifying a serialized product. The computer system may also receive from a data storage system a serial identifier associated with a first unit of the serialized product that is present at one of the plurality of robot accessible bins and is indicated at the data storage system as being available. The computer system may also write to the data storage system an indication that the first unit is reserved, and transmit to the requesting system a message comprising an indication of the order and an indication of the serial identifier.
