Abstract

본 발명은 유리 요오드 함량이 저감된 폴리아릴렌 설파이드(polyarylene sulfide)를 제조하는 방법에 관한 것으로서, 구체적으로 디요오드 방향족 화합물과 황 화합물을 포함하는 반응물을 중합 반응하여, 폴리아릴렌 설파이드를 중합하는 단계; 및 상기에서 중합된 폴리아릴렌 설파이드를 100 내지 260°C에서 히트-세팅(heat setting)하는 단계를 포함한다. 본 발명에 따른 제조방법은 폴리아릴렌 설파이드 내의 유리 요오드 함량을 효과적으로 낮추어 후공정 설비의 부식을 방지할 수 있고, 제조된 폴리아릴렌 설파이드의 열 안정성 등의 물성도 개선하여, 폴리아릴렌 설파이드의 제조에 관한 산업 분야에 유용하게 응용될 수 있다.
