Abstract

 本発明は、触媒層形成用液における水分の影響を解消して、基板全面にわたって均質な高配向カーボンナノ構造物を成長させることができ、その量産化を実現できるカーボンナノ構造物成長用触媒層の形成方法、同形成方法に用いる触媒層形成用液、及び同形成方法により形成した触媒層を用いたカーボンナノ構造物製造方法を提供するものである。CNT製造に用いる触媒層の形成は、基板との濡れ性に富んだ溶媒に触媒金属を含む金属化合物(触媒金属塩)を分散又は溶解させた触媒金属塩溶液を調製し、その触媒金属塩溶液を前記基板上に薄膜状に塗布して行われる。ついで、薄膜を加熱処理して触媒層を形成し、この乾燥触媒層を形成した基板を後述のカーボンナノ構造物合成装置に導入して熱CVD法によりCNTを成長させる。
