Abstract

ゲーム装置(1)は、固定された本体(100)と、プレイヤに保持され、その身体動作を検出すると共に本体(100)との間で信号授受可能な可動の操作機(8)とを有する。操作機(8)は、加速度を検出する加速度センサ(86)と光源(85)と加速度センサ(86)により検出された値を本体(100)側に送信する送信部(87)とを備える。本体(100)は、光源(85)から発せられた光を受光してその受光強度を検出する受光ユニット(9L,9R)と、RAM(14)と、プロセッサ(16)とを有する。プロセッサ(16)は、受光ユニット(9L,9R)の各々に検出された受光強度に基づいて操作機(8)の位置を検出する処理を繰り返し、検出された位置履歴をRAM(14)に記憶させ、位置履歴と加速度センサ(86)の検出値とからプレイヤが予め定められた動作を行ったか否かを判断する。
