- pH 1 acetate was consumed while ethanol was produced. This indicates at elevated pH (pH 7), at least a portion of the acetate in a fermentation broth is converted into ethanol.
- Clostridium carboxidivorans is known to produce acetic acid, butyric acid, ethanol and butanol.
