  • These devices comprise infrared ray lamps that consist of a reflecting parabola that is mounted on a stand resting on the ground and inside which an infrared ray source of heat radiates heat both directly and by reflection of the parabola.
  • a plurality of these lamps are placed on a common supporting frame, positioned one by the side of the other in rows and columns, so as to have a far larger radiating surface than that of just one lamp and thus to be able to dry a correspondingly larger painted surface.
  • the frame normally has also wheels so it can be moved by an operator by hand, turning the reflecting surfaces of the lamps towards several areas of the bodywork to dry.
  • a first drawback is that the heat of the lamps is concentrated where the heat source is, while it is considerably less in the surrounding areas.
  • Another drawback is that radiating times and movements are left entirely up to the attention and precision of the workers who have to see to them by hand, and therefore there is no constant or programmed frequency which obviously means that some areas are radiated longer than others as well as at different distances, and, thus, some areas that are dried differently from others which can make the painted surface uneven to the eye which is exactly the opposite of what is required.
  • One object of the invention is to improve the state of the known technique.
  • Another object of the invention is to make a drying apparatus that can dry larger surfaces without it being necessary for the operators to carry out manual movements or minimizing any such movements when there are particularly large surfaces to dry.

  • the trolley 9 has fastening means 12 and guiding means 13 for fastening the radiating panel 5, as well as sliding means for sliding along the ground like, e.g., wheels 14, placed on one bottom side of the base 10.
  • the fastening means 12 comprise a substantially horizontal bracket element 15 that defines two opposite ends 16 that are bent at right angles.
  • hinge means 17 that have a first substantially common horizontal rotation axis "A”, in such a way as to allow the radiating panel 5 to oscillate around this first rotation axis "A” according to the alternating directions indicated by the arrows "E".

  • the movement of the radiating panel 5 along the bar 15 makes it possible to change the radiating position without having to move the trolley 9 with each change.
