Abstract
光源から出射される光束を往復走査し、検出器によって発光源からの光束の出射タイミングを決定する光走査装置において、光束の光を検出する検出器の位置精度に関係なく、発光源からの光束の出射タイミングを一定にして、画像の劣化を防止することができる光走査装置を提供する。 光走査装置には、光検出器から連続して出力される2つのパルス信号の一方のパルス信号の立ち上がりエッジタイミングと他方のパルス信号の立ち下がりエッジタイミングとを検出し、これらのエッジタイミングの中間タイミングに基づいて基準信号を生成する基準信号生成器が配設されている。これにより、光検出器の位置精度が出ない場合であっても、発光源からの出射タイミングのずれが生じにくくなる。このため、光束の走査位置のずれが抑制でき、光走査による画像の表示におけるずれなどの不具合を防止できる。
