Abstract

L'invention concerne un composé azoïque pour films anisotropes qui présente une absorption principalement dans une région de longueurs d'ondes courtes et qui est utile comme film polarisant permettant un affichage avec une grande diversité de couleurs. Elle concerne un composé azoïque dont la longueur d'onde maximale dans un film est plus courte que la longueur d'onde λ(k)nm définie par la formule (1), dans laquelle l'angle ϑ entre l'axe d'absorption majeur de la molécule et l'axe majeur de la molécule est inférieur ou égal à 1,5°. (1) dans laquelle les constantes A, B, C, D et δλ sont définies comme suit : A= -18,069 B= 40,645 C= 0,79764 D= -2,0793 δλ= 67 et k est un rapport largeur/longueur de la molécule de composé azoïque.
