Abstract

The invention provides a device and system for verifying and/ or managing services such as electricity, water and gas use remotely. The system includes a service meter or a device attachable to a service meter. The service meter or device includes a means for capturing a digital image of a meter reading and a transmitter for transmitting a signal to a remote station, which signal relates to the digital image of current reading of the meter.
