Abstract

Provided is a boring rotary cutting tool constituted (1) such that a body (2) includes a fluted portion (or a chip discharging groove) (3a) having a helix angle of 5 to 30 degrees, (2) such that a polycrystalline diamond tip (4) is arranged as an oblique blade along a margin portion (3) within a range of 0.2 mm, (3) such that the polycrystalline diamond tip has a leading blade portion (6) formed integrally therewith on its leading side in a tool advancing direction and a finishing blade portion (7) formed integrally therewith on its trailing side, and (4) such that blade chamfer portions (9 and 11) have a core height (H) of ± 0.2 mm. The boring rotary cutting tool satisfying all the conditions (1) to (4) performs not an interrupted operation but a continuous operation, although it is made of one tool, so that it can perform a coarse operation, and is enabled to improve the chip discharge efficiency by reducing the chip discharging resistance while dividing the chips. Thus, the influences of the chips at the cutting time can be eliminated as much as possible thereby to make better the roundness of a bore formed in the work.
