Abstract

An inter-board connection connector constituted of a header (1) and a socket (2) for mechanically coupling and electrically connecting a pair of oppositely placed circuit boards with each other. A header contact (3) is formed as a protruding piece (7) having a cylindrical base (8) protruding from a surface of a header body and a leading edge (9) formed at the tip of the base (8) and having a maximum diameter larger than a diameter or a width of the base. A socket contact (5) is an elongate plate-like material, which has a thickness thinner than a height of the base (8), has both ends held on both side walls of a construction hole (16) of a socket body (6), and has a connection (17) electrically and mechanically connected to the header contact (3). The connection (17) has an inlet hole (22) through which the leading edge (9) of the header contact (3) can pass and a slit (21) communicating with the inlet hole (22) and narrower than the diameter of the base (8) of the header contact (3) formed. Both sides of the slit (21) of the connection (17) are brought into elastic contact with the base (8) of the header contact (3) to generate a predetermined contact pressure.
