Abstract

[PROBLEMS] To provide an optical information recording medium which enables to record at a higher speed even when the thickness of a recording layer of an information layer is reduced, and which has excellent mass productivity. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] Disclosed is an optical disk (10) for recording/reproducing information by varying the optical property of a recording layer (14) by irradiation with laser beam. The optical disk (10) is characterized in that an oxide protective layer LOx-MOx comprising a mixture of oxides LOx and MOx is laminated on both surfaces of the recording layer (14) as a first interface layer (13) and a second interface layer (15). The oxide LOx is an oxide of at least one element selected from the elements from the lanthanoide series such as Ce, Nd, Eu, Gd and Dy. The oxide MOx is an oxide of at least one element selected from Si, Al and Ta.
