Abstract

L'invention concerne un illuminateur pour éclairer un élément de modulation optique (3) effectuant une modulation optique d'une lumière d'éclairage incidente sur une surface effective (31), lequel illuminateur comprend un dispositif de source de lumière (1), comprenant une source de lumière à émission par la surface (12) et un cristal photonique (14), et un système optique d'éclairage (2) consistant en au moins deux éléments optiques (21, 22) pour éclairer l'élément de modulation optique (3) avec un faisceau lumineux émis par une surface d'émission de lumière (13) de la source de lumière à émission par la surface (12). Le système optique d'éclairage (2) agrandit la surface d'émission de lumière (13) de la source de lumière à émission par la surface (12) et forme l'image de celle-ci de façon télécentrique sur la surface effective (31) de l'élément de modulation optique (3).
