Abstract

The invention relates to an illuminating structure (1) comprising a plurality of light sources (11) lying in a plane, and a diffusing structure comprising a transparent substrate (20) having first and second main faces, the substrate being opposite the light sources and being at a distance of less than 6 mm from the sources, a diffusing layer (22) on one of the main faces of said substrate, the diffusing layer, called inhomogeneous layer, having a variable thickness and/or a variable covering density. The invention also relates to an optical structure (20) having a diffusing structure intended to homogenize a plurality of light sources lying in a plane, which diffusing structure comprises the transparent substrate (21) and the inhomogeneous diffusing layer (22), and a stack of optical elements (23) on one of the faces of the substrate and chosen from: one or more diffusing films; a diffusing film and an element for redirecting the light towards the normal to the substrate and a diffusing film; or a diffusing film and a reflective polarizer.
