Abstract
Disclosed are: a flocculating agent which can be suitably used for the purification of water in a water supply and sewerage system or the purification of water in a storage reservoir, a pond, a river, a lake or the like; a method for producing the flocculating agent; and a method for purification of water using the flocculating agent. Specifically disclosed is a magnetic flocculating agent produced by chemically binding a polymeric flocculating agent (e.g., a polyamino acid flocculating agent) to a magnetic microparticle or mixing a polymeric flocculating agent with a magnetic microparticle, thereby integrating the both components together.
