Abstract

A base station is used in a mobile communication system which employs an orthogonal frequency demultiplex (OFDM) method for a downstream link. The base station includes: means for generating a transmission signal by an OFDM symbol containing a first signal and a second signal; and transmission means for transmitting a transmission signal to a mobile station. According to the position of the subcarrier to which the first signal is mapped, the subcarrier to which the second signal is to be mapped is decided.
