Abstract

Provided is an electric expansion/contraction mechanism having improved expanding/contracting characteristics. An electric expansion/contraction mechanism (A) is formed by arranging electrodes (2) on the both surfaces of an insulating layer (1) having expanding/contracting characteristics. The insulating layer (1) is formed of a porous body (3).
