Abstract

 3次の球面収差を補正する際に発生する波面収差の影響を抑制し、良好な情報の記録及び/又は再生を実現する。  コリメータレンズ4は、第1の対物レンズ6に平行光が入射した時に残存する3次の球面収差が最小となる第1の光情報記録媒体30の光透過層厚を第1の対物レンズ6の最適基材厚とし、第1の対物レンズ6の最適基材厚に対応する第1の光情報記録媒体30の面から所望の情報記録面までの光透過層の厚さに応じて発生する3次の球面収差を補正し、第1の光情報記録媒体30の第1の対物レンズ6から最も遠い情報記録面において3次の球面収差補正時に発生する波面収差の変位量と、第1の光情報記録媒体30の第1の対物レンズ6から最も近い情報記録面において3次の球面収差補正時に発生する波面収差の変位量とが同等となるように、第1の対物レンズ6の最適基材厚が定められる。
