Abstract

 ソース配線Sjと電圧選択回路14の間に第1スイッチ素子Q6を設け、ソース配線Sjを分割した部分配線Sj(2)~Sj(0)間に第2スイッチ素子Q2、Q4を設ける。電圧印加期間では、第1スイッチがオン状態、第2スイッチがオン状態またはオフ状態となり、映像データDinの各ビットに応じた電圧が各部分配線に与えられる。電圧平均化期間では、第1スイッチがオフ状態、第2スイッチがオン状態となり、ソース配線Sjの電圧は部分配線の電圧を平均化した電圧となる。平均化された電圧は、オン状態のアクティブ素子Q1を含む画素回路Aijの画素電極Pijに与えられる。これにより、オペアンプ回路を用いずにソース配線を駆動する低消費電力で高歩留まりの表示装置を提供する。
