Abstract
The invention relates to a tibial-femoral resection apparatus for placing a prosthesis, that comprises insertion means (23, 23', 26) to be introduced under the femoral condyles of the knee and to rest on the upper portion (5) of the tibial plate (6), a block (8) with femoral and tibial cuts comprising two slots (20, 21) for receiving respectively a femoral cut blade and a tibial cut blade, and means (33) for attaching the block to the tibia. The insertion means (23, 23', 36) are follower means that co-operate with a rear portion (7) of the condyles when the knee is in a folded position, while means (9, 18, 19) are provided for blocking said follower means in position with the cut block (8) according to the orientation of the posterior bicondylian plane used as a reference and given by the follower means when the knee is in a folded position.
