Abstract

Apparatus for biological or chemical reactions, in particular PCR, and comprising a heat removal module adapted to receive snugly a reaction vessel in such a manner as to create good thermal conductivity contact between the module and the vessel, the module being formed of a thermally conductive material having therein a channel adapted for the flow of a coolant liquid. Preferably it is constructed to receive an array of 96n microtitre wells formed of electrically conductive plastics (ecp) lined with an electrically insulative material.
