Abstract

L'invention concerne un appareil de découpe et un procédé permettant de découper des produits végétaux, tels que des agrumes. Les produits végétaux individuels sont orientés afin de découper le produit en tranches. Les tranches sont arrangées en série sur un mécanisme de transport et sont imagées par un système de vision afin de détecter des caractéristiques physiques de chaque tranche, y compris la présence de peau, de zest, de trognon, de pépins et/ou de pourriture. Les tranches imagées sont transportées jusqu'à un arrangement d'emporte-pièces, qui positionne et active de manière sélective un ou plusieurs emporte-pièces pour créer une forme découpée souhaitée à partir de chaque tranche de produit en fonction des informations fournies par le système de vision. Les tranches découpées à l'emporte-pièce ont des parties souhaitées et non souhaitées séparées et distribuées jusque dans des chambres de réception appropriées à des fins de collecte.
