Abstract
The present invention relates to a method for measuring air mass and to an air mass sensor. In order to provide an inexpensive and reliable method as well as a corresponding apparatus for measuring flow, it is proposed to construct an air mass sensor having two ultrasonic transducers 3, 4, which are arranged in a tube 2, in such a manner that the ultrasonic transducers 3, 4 are arranged at a short distance l, L from one another and essentially parallel to one another at an angle α which is oblique with respect to the centre axis of the tube M in the region of the tube wall 5, and a system 6 having at least one mirror or reflector 7, 8 is arranged in such a manner that the ultrasonic wave 9 emitted by the respective transmission transducer 3, 4 is reflected to the second transducer 3, 4 which is used as the reception transducer, wherein a tube 11 is arranged in the region of one of the two sound transducers 3, 4 in such a manner that part of the transmission path of the ultrasonic wave 9 is guided in this tube 11.
