An apparatus (1), particularly for a labelling machine, for discarding altered or faulty labels (2' ), removably applied on a supporting tape (3) of labels (2, 2' ) moving along an advancing direction (A), comprises removing means (5) for removing said altered or faulty labels (2' ) from said.supporting tape (3) and collecting means (6) arranged for receiving said altered labels (2' ) from said removing means (5); said collecting means (6) comprises a further supporting tape (17) suitable for supporting and collecting said altered labels (2' ).
