Definitions
- the invention refers to a cosmetic method for toning up the dermis, in particular the dermis of human beings .
- the surface layer o f epidermis is removed in the areas where the rejuvenation treatment of the skin is wanted using a laser beam emitted by a speci fic emitter apparatus so wrinkles and other superficial epidermis defects can no longer be seen because they have been completely removed.
- the dermi s that is the part of the tissue immediately under the epidermis, is toned up stimulating the production o f collagens in various ways by the cells of the connective tissue, named fibroblasts .
- the fibroblasts are stimul ated by causing a traum a in a zone of the dermis where toning up is wanted and this trauma can be caused in different ways, that is, ways that are able to modify the homoeo stasis of the zone o f the dermis .
- a zone of the dermis where toning up i s wanted undergoes mechanical compression by means of a manual instrument that comprises a roller that has elements in relief on its outer surface and which is made to roll over this zone repeatedly.
- the fibroblasts in the zone activate spontaneously producing type 1 collagen, that is, the type which is part of the dermis composition .
- the collagens produced by this stimulation via thi s compression, effects the dermi s increasing its consi stency, toning it up as wanted .
- an instrument is used to stimulate the fibroblasts, emitting monopolar radiofrequency waves radiating a zone where to tone up the dermis is wi shed .
- This instrument which i s known by the name o f Thermacool® and produced by the American company Thermage Inc . , emits monopol ar radio frequency waves that go through the various l ayers o f the dermi s which are progressively more resistant as the waves reach the dermi s in depth.
- This resistance for the known law of OHM, generates heat and the fibroblasts in the radiated zone are stimulated by this heat traum a to produce type 1 collagens .
- the trauma causes a change in the intermolecular structure o f the collagens which breaks the intramolecular bonds resulting in the formation o f shorter and more compact molecules .
- a first drawback i that the method known as ablative i s painful so people undergoing this treatment are given drugs to relieve the pain plus the fact it leaves scabs which have to be bandaged for protection; the bandages can only be taken off when the epidermis has completely healed.
- a second drawback with the method that uses Thermacool® is that in some cases, most likely due to very few fibroblasts in the zone undergoing the skin rej uvenation treatment with Thermacool®, the results are unsati sfactory because not enough type 1 coll agens is produced .
- Another drawback is that in some cases after treatment, even when the desired toning up of the dermis is achieved, there is a gradual regression until the dermis i s almost as it was prior to treatment.
- One obj ect of the invention i s to improve the prior art.
- Another obj ect o f this invention is to perfect a cosmetic method for toning up the dermis that i s not painful for people who undergo the skin rej uvenation treatment.
- Another obj ect o f this invention i s to perfect a cosmetic method for toning up the dermi s that allows to achieve results of toning up the dermis in all the zones undergoing the treatment, avoiding any unsatisfactory result.
- Another obj ect of this invention is to perfect a cosmetic method for toning up the dermis that allows to maintain the skin rejuvenation effects of the treatment for a long time afterwards .
- a cosmeti c method for toning up the dermis comprising the following phases : provoke a traum a in at least one zone of the dermis to tone up ; induce, with said trauma, cells o f the dermis known as fibroblasts, that are in at least said one zone, to produce collagens in at least said one zone; characterised in that prior to said provoking a trauma, the concentration of fibroblasts in at least said one zone are to b e increased .
- the cosmetic method for toning up the dermis allows to achieve the desired toning up results in all cases where the skin rej uvenation treatment is carried out and to maintain these same results prolonged over time.
- the cosmeti c method for toning up the dermis comprises a first phase, defined bio-revitalisation, where a mixture of four amino acids is inserted in a zone of the dermis where toning up is desired.
- This mixture of amino acids comprises : Proline, Leucine, Lysine and Glycine.
- the insertion o f thi s mixture o f amino acids causes a spontaneous migration of fibroblasts, called "chemotaxis", from the surrounding zones towards the zone where the insertion was made due to a tendency of the fibrobl asts to concentrate where there is a higher concentration of amino acids seeing as they are a nutriment for such cell s .
- the zone of the dermis is radiated with a device that emits monopolar radiofrequency waves like, for example, a Thermacool® appliance, according to a treatment known as "Thermage" and with which the fibroblasts are stimul ated to produce type 1 collagens .
- a device that emits monopolar radiofrequency waves like, for example, a Thermacool® appliance, according to a treatment known as "Thermage” and with which the fibroblasts are stimul ated to produce type 1 collagens .
- the cosmetic method for toning up the dermis entails increasing the concentration of fibroblasts in the zones of the dermis where the toning up is desired, before being radiated with monopolar radiofrequency waves with, for example, a Thermacool® appliance.
- the increased concentration of fibroblasts allows, on one hand, to increase the quantity o f collagens in the chosen zone of the dermis, specifically type 1 collagens, produced by these cells in a way directly proportional to the increased concentration of the same and, on the other hand, to supply a necessary quantity of amino acids to guarantee that the activated fibrobl asts will have enough of these amino acids to be able to withstand an increased production of type 1 coll agens and/or to make up for some inert fibroblasts that fail to produce coll agens .
- a so call ed "systemic suppl ement" i s entailed that is, a daily dose o f at least three of the amino acids that the mixture is made o f to be taken by mouth, and more specifically Glycine, Proline and Lysine in a drinkable form .
- This dose can be integrated with the addition of vitamin, specifically vitamin "C” , at the quantity o f one gram in the morning and one gram in the evening.
