Abstract

A spill-resistant container (10) is disclosed including a cup (202) and a cap (200). The cup (202) includes an inwardly projecting ledge (208) and a plurality of spaced apart recesses (209). The cap (200) includes a cover portion (214) having a plurality of spaced apart openings (206). The inwardly projecting ledge (208) between each of the plurality of spaced apart recesses (209) is disposed on a plane P that is formed at an angle A to horizontal H. The peripheral lip (204) is disposed on a plane P that is formed at the same angle A as the plane of the inwardly projecting ledge (208). Rotation of the cap (200) with respect to the cup (202) causes the peripheral lip (204) of each of the plurality of spaced apart openings (206) to form a seal against the inwardly projecting ledge (208).
