Abstract

A plastic container (10) comprises an upper portion (12) including a finish (18) adapted to receive a closure, a lower portion (14) including a base (22), a sidewall (16) extending between the upper portion and the lower portion, the sidewail having an interior surface and an exterior surface, and a substantially planar reinforcing ring (24) extending substantially perpendicularly from the interior surface of the sidewail. A method of making a plastic container, and a container preform, are also disclosed.
