Abstract

The invention concerns an energy absorbing assembly (10), in particular for motor vehicle bumper, comprising a transverse beam (11) connected to two side members (6) of the vehicle body shell. Said assembly comprises a stack of two absorbers (15, 25) supported on the transverse beam (11) and overlapping at least partly while providing between them and the transverse beam a free volume, said absorbers including an outer absorber (15) for the lesser bumper impacts and an inner absorber (25) for the greater impacts.
