Following stimulation, the expression of IL-4 and IFN- ⁇ mRNA were measured by real-time RT-PCR. In the cultures of both atopic patients ⁇ -1 ,2-(D)-mannotriose effectively suppressed the birch allergen induced IL-4 response in a dose-dependent manner (Fig. 5). The p- values in Fig. 5 refer to a non-parametric paired test (Wilcoxon rank sum test).

Abstract
Cette invention concerne l'utilisation d'un immunostimulant choisi dans le groupe constitué de polysaccharides de mannane contenant des chaînes à liaison β-1,2, de β-1,2-(D)-mannooligosaccharides et de toute combinaison de ceux-ci, pour la préparation d'un médicament servant à traiter un mammifère, y compris l'homme, souffrant ou susceptible de souffrir d'un état pouvant être traité ou prévenu par indication d'une réponse immunitaire de type Th1 et/ou par inhibition d'une réponse immunitaire de type Th2. Cette invention concerne également une composition immunstimulatrice comprenant au moins un composant choisi dans le groupe constitué de polysaccharides de mannane contenant des chaînes à liaison -1,2 et de -1,2-(D)-mannooligosaccharides; et un excipient. Cette invention concerne en outre un aliment contenant au moins un composant choisi dans le groupe constitué de polysaccharides de mannane contenant des chaînes à liaison β-1,2 et de β-1,2-(D) mannooligosaccharides, ainsi que l'utilisation de polysaccharides de mannane contenant des chaînes à liaison β-1,2 et de β-1,2-(D) mannooligosaccharides comme additif alimentaire. Cette invention concerne enfin un procédé servant à induire une réponse immunitaire de type Th1, qui consiste à administrer à un sujet la composition ou l'aliment faisant l'objet de cette invention en quantité suffisante pour induire une réponse immunitaire de type Th1, ainsi qu'un procédé destiné à inhiber une réponse immunitaire de type Th2, consistant à administrer au sujet la composition ou l'aliment faisant l'objet de cette invention en quantité suffisante pour inhiber partiellement ou complètement le développement de la réponse immunitaire de type Th2. -
