Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé, un progiciel informatique et un système qui permettent de reconfigurer les capacités fonctionnelles dans un système de traitement des données comprenant des ressources dormantes. Selon l'invention, on utilise les ressources dormantes d'un système de traitement des données pour remplacer (360) les caractéristiques fonctionnelles d'une unité matérielle cassée et compenser les ressources perdues. Si suffisamment de ressources dormantes sont disponibles pour remplacer les capacités fonctionnelles de l'unité matérielle cassée, le système de traitement des données peut être utilisé sans dégradation de ses capacités. Sinon, l'invention permet de réduire la dégradation. La partie fonctionnelle de l'unité matérielle cassée est isolée (340) du système, mais ses données de configuration sont lues (350) à partir de sa partie non fonctionnelle. Les données de définition d'habilitation contenues dans les données de configuration sont alors analysées à la recherche des ressources manquantes. Les ressources dormantes disponibles sont alors activées jusqu'à ce que toutes les ressources perdues soient remplacées ou qu'il n'y ait plus de ressources dormantes pour le remplacement.
