Abstract
A domestic bin(l) for separate collection of rubbish includes a plurality of garbage cans (2) on one another that can be opened one at a time and independent of one another and can be rotated about a generally vertical pin (4) which is fixed to a lower support base (3) .
Description
Domestic bin for separate collection of rubbish
The present invention relates to a domestic bin for separate collection of rubbish able to receive a plurality of garbage cans each of them being turntable and provided for a particular kind of rubbish. More specifically, said bin includes a base provided with a generally vertical fixed, pin to which said garbage cans are hinged on one another and can be rotated independent of one another.
In all countries where the separate collection of rubbish has become compulsory, people should presently separate at home the rubbish in different bags according to the kind of waste and then throw them into the respective bins on the road, thus allowing the same to be recycled. At home the bags filled with waste should be at least three, one for the so-called "wet rubbish", one for paper and paperboard, and one for glass, plastics, and aluminium. This requires, if it is desired to avoid the use of three different bags, to buy a rubbish bin provided with several compartments or a plurality of bins, preferably as many as the kinds of wastes. The bin with several compartments, of course, has a greater size than the one-section bin, while it is self-evident that a plurality of bins are by far cumbersome .
The drawback of such solutions is evidently the considerable room occupied on the floor since the vertical size is no problem at all.
The main object of the invention is to overcome said drawback by providing a domestic bin for separate
collection of rubbish in which a plurality of garbage cans open at the upper side are stacked, each of them being turntable about a vertical axis and arranged to receive a particular kind of wastes. Thus, the bin concerned is rotated about the axis and brought outside the stack, then the rubbish is thrown into the same and at last the bin is rotated to the initial position, thus reducing the room to that occupied by- only one bin.
A better understanding of the invention will result from the following detailed description with reference to the accompanying drawings that show two preferred embodiments thereof only by way of a not limiting example.
In the drawings :
Figure 1 is rear view of the bin in which each garbage can has a generally cylindrical shape;
Figure 2 is a side view of the finding of figure 1 with two opened garbage cans;
Figure 3 is a rear exploded view of the garbage can placed on the base of the bin of figure 1;
Figure 4 is a perspective view of figure 3;
Figure 5 is a top view of the cover of a garbage can of figure 1;
Figure 6 is a front view of a second embodiment in
which each garbage can has generally the shape of a parallelepiped;
Figure 7 is a side exploded view of the embodiment of figure 6;
Figure 8 is a side exploded view of the garbage can placed on the base of the bin of figure 6;
Figure 9 is a perspective view of figure 8;
Figure 10 is a top view of the cover of a garbage can of figure 6.
With reference to the figures, there is shown a bin 1 including a lower support base 3 provided with a generally vertical pin 4 disposed preferably on the side of said base 3.
According to a peculiar feature of the finding, the bin is able to receive a plurality of turntable garbage cans 2, each of them being hinged about pin 4 passing through a vertical side hole 6.
Vertical hole 6 is formed in a suitable thickening of the side wall of each garbage can 2. Each garbage can 2 is fitted on pin 4 of base 3 passing trough hole 6 so as to form a stack of garbage cans 2 on one another, only the bottom garbage can of the stack rests directly on base 3.
To avoid that the lower surface of each garbage can 2 of the stack rests directly on the rubbish contained in underlying garbage can 2, a suitable cover 7 also turntable about pin 4 passing through side hole 8 is
provided.
Advantageously, as stacked garbage cans 2 are hinged about pin 4, the user should only rotate manually the can destined to contain a special kind of rubbish to be thrown away independent of the other garbage cans 2 of the stack, as shown in figure 2.
A further advantage is given by that base 3, garbage cans 2, and covers 7 can be made with customized shape, size, and materials. Foe example, the section of garbage cans 2 can be generally squared (figs. 1 to 10) instead of circular, or of any other shape, i.e. a closed curve or broken line . The present invention has been described and illustrated according to two preferred embodiments thereof, however, it should be understood that anyone skilled in the art can make equivalent modifications and/or replacements without departing from the scope of the present industrial invention.
