Description
"'Disposable cutlery"
Description
Technical Field
Disposable cutlery made of thermoplastic, especially in the form of a fork, a spoon, a knife, a tea-spoon for tea or coffee, a tea-spoon for ice., i.e. cutlery especially designed for fast-foods, constitute the subject matter of the invention.
Background Art
The known disposable cutlery are supplied by producers generally in the form of composite piles, where the items are stacked one on the top of the other, what is possible due to the shape of the handle in the form of C letter with slumped back arms, that in the cross-section have a trapezoidal shape, so one piece of cutlery beneath engages with the second engagement means of the cutlery. In order to ensure hygiene or during transportation and exploitation, cutlery is packed generally in piles in a foil bag, and then after cutting off of a part of a foil bag and welding of its cut off edges, a unit package is formed including a pile of cutlery of a definite number or in a set required by the customer.
Due to the fact, that the process of the cutlery's production and their packing is generally automated, the shape of single pieces of cutlery has to allow for their easy joining in piles in a manner rendering it possible their accidental scattering what could result in stoppages in the course of automatic joining in piles and packing in the process of production.
Shaping of the cutlery, that makes this process easies is presented in the patent description EP 1 514 497 Al. The cutlery described in the patent document are made in such a way, that their handles include two types of joining measures: first ones that are placed in pairs at the upper side surfaces of the handles and the other ones that are placed also in pairs but at the lower surfaces of the handles, while the joining measures are shaped in such a way, that while placing one piece of cutlery on another one, there is a connection of the shaped joining measures what allows for creation of a pile. The solution of the joining measures in the form presented in the previously quoted patent description of hooking function, requires the application of sliding systems in the construction of moulds for the cutlery injection, what makes the costs of the process of production more expensive and has the impact on the unit price of a piece of cutlery. Apart from this, the connection of hooking function makes the disconnection of a piece of cutlery more difficult, what is required for example in placing of a pile to a cutlery batcher, where batching of cutlery takes place via their moving radial in the direction of the upper surface of the piece of cutlery, where the front part of the piece of cutlery constitutes the fulcrum in such a batcher and the distance of joining from the fulcrum is the unfastening radius, and the unfastening force is applied not far from the end of the cutlery.
Summary of the invention
The aim of the invention is creation of such a type of disposable cutlery joining, that after their placing in piles one on another, during packing for example to the foil bag shall not scatter and shall not result in stoppages in the technological process, while such a solution should also ensure application of simple and efficient moulds for injection of thermoplasts, in which disposable cutlery is produced. Apart from this,
connection of the cutlery into piles has to allow for their easy disconnecting with the application of undo force at a single piece of cutlery, what appears in the cutlery batchers of such functioning.
According to the subject matter of the invention, the solution lies in the fact, that every out of the first joining measures has the form of a hollow, the basis of which is located in parallel to the lower area of the handle and constitutes the section of a semi-circle hollowed in the side wall of the handle, and the side walls of the hollow are shaped conically upwards connecting with the side wall of the handle, while the each next joining measure has the form of a lobe, the basis of which is also located in parallel to the lower surface of the handle and constitutes the section of the semi-circle protruding from the side inside wall of the handle, and the side walls of the lobe are shaped conically upwards connecting with the side internal wall of the handle, where the lobe is a little bit bigger than the hollow as far as the dimensions are concerned, and the conical shaping of the lobe and the hollow is made at the angle from 1° to 3°.
Further, the solution is characterized by the fact, that the basis of the lobe is located at the side edge of the wall.
The crucial advantage resulting from the essential features of the invention, in reference to the known solution is obtaining of the clamp- self locking connection between the cutlery instead of the already known hooking connection. It was obtained due to the shaping of the joining measures in the form of hollows and lobes of the shape and location as mentioned in the crucial features of the invention. Such joining renders it possible to use the moulds for the cutlery injection without a complicated sliding systems, and also it allows for easy disconnecting of the cutlery with the application of the unfastening force at a single piece of cutlery,
what appears in the cutlery batchers, the construction of which is adjusted to place a pile of cutlery in it, that then with the use of the dispensing mechanism manually operated with the button, under the influence of the unfastening force are moved out from the batcher.

Description of the preferred embodiments
Disposable cutlery presented on the figures 1 up to 11 in the form of spoons, according to the essential features of the invention are characterized by the fact, that every piece of cutlery 1 has a pair of joining measures 2, from which the first one is in the form of a hollow 3, the basis 4 of which is located in parallel to the bottom surface 5 of the handle 6 and constitutes the section of a semi-circle hollowed in the side wall 7 of the handle, and side walls 8 of the hollow 3 are shaped conically upwards connecting with the side wall 7 of the handle, where every second joining measure 2 is in the form of a lobe 9 , the basis 10
of which is also located in parallel to the bottom surface 5 of the handle and constitutes the section of a semi-circle protruding from the side internal wall 11 of the handle 6 , and the side walls 12 of the lobe 9 are shaped conically upwards connecting with the side internal wall 11, where the lobe 9 is a little bit deeper than the hollow 3 as far as dimensions are concerned, while the hollow 3 and the lobe 9 conically shaped are made at the angle β equal to 2°.
Lobe 9 is shaped in such a way, that its basis 10 is located at the edge 13 of the side wall 7 of the handle 6.
The presented shaping of the hollow 3 and the lobe 9 as well as selection in an experimental tests manner of the dimension F (distance between the tops of the hollow) and dimension E (distance between the tops of the lobe 9), where distance E is a little bit smaller than dimension F, allows for obtaining a clamp-self locking connection shown in details in figure 11 and figure 12, that present the manner of obtaining of such a connection in distance H, where this process starts. Having pushed both the pieces of cutlery 1, they are connected, that depending on their number may include 10 pieces of cutlery, just as shown at the figures 6 and 7, or 2 pieces of cutlery as shown at the figure 4 and 5.
The obtained clamp-self locking connection allows for easy disconnecting of cutlery 1 with the use of disconnecting force N applied at the single piece of cutlery 1 in the pile of cutlery 14 as shown at the figure 6. Such a connection allows for the use of cutlery for batchers in which disconnecting force is applied at a piece of cutlery.
