Definitions
- the invention relates to a connecting device for a catheter, in particular for a central venous catheter, with an inlet connection piece, an outlet connection piece, an intermediate piece arranged between inlet fitting and outlet fitting and an infusion channel, wherein at least one permitting the flow of infusion liquid and simultaneously the bacterial and / or fungal infestation the catheter inhibiting protective element is provided.
- a connecting device of the aforementioned type is known from DE 101 46 853 A1.
- an indwelling catheter assembly is disclosed having a flexible catheter through which a guide member extends as the catheter is laid.
- a connecting device is arranged, at the inlet connection piece an infusion tube and to the outlet connection piece a holder for catheter and guide element can be connected.
- a bacteria filter is provided, which completely fills the connecting device and does not seem to be interchangeable.
- a connecting device for the changing connection, z. B. of infusion tubes to a catheter without bacterial filter is known from DE 300 090 3 C1.
- z. B. A connecting device for the changing connection, z. B. of infusion tubes to a catheter without bacterial filter
- the distal end of the connector is cleaned, the catheter filled with solution and sealed at the end or at the distal end of the connector with a stopper.
- bacteria and / or fungi may settle in the end region of the catheter or the connecting piece. These are often not completely removed despite rinsing. In the period between two infusions such bacteria or fungi can proliferate in the tail or in the connector. From there they are flushed into the patient's body with the next infusion and can cause sepsis.
- the invention has for its object to prevent the penetration of bacteria and / or fungi into the catheter in an alternative manner, or at least reduce significantly.
- this object is achieved in a connecting device of the type mentioned above in that the protective element is a sieve element made of silver, seen in the infusion channel or in the direction of infusion flow, arranged at the end of the infusion channel and having numerous openings.
- the protective element is a barrier for bacteria and / or fungi.
- the arrangement of this protective element in the connecting device is particularly advantageous because the complete connecting device can be exchanged with the protective element in a very simple manner, if the Protective element z. B. as a result of constipation, should be ineffective.
- Such protective elements as seen in the infusion flow direction behind the connection device, ie in the catheter itself, have the disadvantage that the entire catheter would have to be replaced.
- a protective element in the direction of infusion flow, viewed in front of the connection device, would not bring any advantages in terms of the risks involved in changing the infusion tubes. It can be assumed that the connecting piece has to be exchanged considerably less frequently than the infusion tubes, so that a corresponding reduction of the sepsis risk can be achieved in comparison with the prior art.
- the sieve element made of silver thus represents an effective obstacle to germs, which - especially when changing the infusion tube - have entered the connection device.
- the sieve can also be cleaned, disinfected and reused.
- the connecting device according to the invention can be designed such that the sieve element has a substantially frustoconical lateral surface and the openings pass through the lateral surface.
- the connecting device according to the invention can be designed such that, in addition to and in the infusion flow direction, a bacterial filter is arranged in front of the sieve element in the intermediate piece.
- the connecting device according to the invention can be designed such that the infusion channel has silver at least partially on the surface.
- This can z. B. be achieved by a coating or by the infusion channel or the entire connecting device made of silver.
- the single FIGURE shows a connecting device 1 with an inlet connection piece 2 with a thread 3, via which an infusion tube 4 can be connected by means of a hose connection piece 5.
- a multi-way element can be connected, in turn, several feeds, z. B. for the infusion fluid and for drugs, can be connected.
- a connected infusion tube 4 terminates at a transition point not shown here in an infusion channel 6 of the connecting device 1.
- the infusion channel 6 passes through an intermediate piece 13 and ends in a sieve-like infusion outlet 7 made of silver, which has numerous openings 8 on its frustoconical lateral surface through which the in the infusion channel 6 located infusion fluid can escape.
- the infusion outlet 7 protrudes beyond the outlet fitting 9, which also has a thread 10 for connection to a catheter, not shown here.
- a bacterial filter 11 is arranged in the infusion channel 6, a bacterial filter 11 is arranged. Due to this expansion, a larger surface of the bacterial filter 11 can be effective and thus represents a lesser obstacle to the flow of the infusion liquid. Between bacteria filter 11 and outlet connection piece 9, an air outlet valve 12 is provided, can escape through the possibly occurring gaseous inclusions. LIST OF REFERENCE NUMBERS
