Description
AN IRONING BOARD Technical Field
[1] This invention relates to an ironing board and more particularly an ironing board to make the ironing one step more convenient by means of combining a main board extension plate to the existing ironing board to facilitate the ironing of shoulder and sleeve parts of clothes and then by means of practicalizing the use of said existing ironing main board and said extension plate with tilting or erecting. Background Art
[2] Generally an ironing board is used when ironing clothes of dress suit, shirt and trousers etc. so a home appliance of ironing board comprises plate type main body to put clothes thereon along with legs to lift the main body from floor.
[3] But traditional ironing board comprises simple flat board so that such parts of shoulders and sleeves of clothes were not easy to be ironed because these parts are thre e dimensional. Therefore traditionally we should use auxiliary ironing board (alias horse) to iron these clothes parts so that here is disadvantage that the ironing takes much time as well as the ironing is cumbersome and the like because the ironing should be by putting the relevant clothes parts of shoulders and sleeves on auxiliary ironing board.
Disclosure of Invention Technical Problem
[4] This invention has been developed from consideration of traditional problem points whereas purpose of this invention is to provide an ironing board so as to facilitate ironing of shoulders of clothes by erecting or tilting the main body extension plate, because if clothes are mounted on main body of ironing board, shoulder part of clothes is fixed over main body extension plate so that there appears a form of dressing the clothes over the ironing board extension plate, while my device constitution is feasible to tilt or erect either main body or its extension plate or both of these two plates according as extension plate has been combined with main plate.
[5] Particularly because main plate and its extension plate have been integrated to form a single plate, this invention is to provide an ironing board facilitating the ironing of shoulder part of clothes by folding up to erect the main body extension plate when necessary whereas the integrated single plate rather may be used wider when main body extension plate is not erected. Technical Solution
[6] To achieve the above purpose, this invention comprises firstly a support bar placed
on indoor floor, secondly a main plate usable in ironing the clothes so as to facilitate the ironing of side edge sewing line of clothes while this main plate has been combined with said support bar that the plate may be freely tilted back and forth by taking said support bar as the tilting axis, and thirdly a main body extension plate having been combined with main plate so as to be able to turn around a pin at one side of main plate so that this auxiliary plate is to be used either in ironing the shoulder of clothes if erected in right angle to main plate or in ironing the half length sleeve of clothes if tilted flatly together with main plate.
Advantageous Effects
[7] According to this invention, shoulders and sleeves of clothes may be easily ironed as main body extension plate shall have been integrally combined to conventional ironing board so as either or both of these plates would be erected or tilted.
[8] And particularly shirt etc. may be speedily conveniently ironed because side flank sewing lines may also be easily ironed by using main body side surface when the ironing board would have been erected; as well as this invention makes other advantages of effects such as price competitiveness because the ironing board of this invention may be easily manufactured by resin injection molding Brief Description of the Drawings

Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention
[66] Figure 1 is oblique view of exploded ironing board of this invention and Figure 2 is oblique view of assembled status of ironing board of this invention. This invention comprises plate type main body 100 to which a movable main body extension plate 300 is combined via pin 104.
[67] As we can see in Figures, so many steam discharge holes 109 and 306 have been provided on upper surfaces of main body 100 and its extension plate 300 so that the configuration is to exhaust steam generated during ironing, while sheet 600 in Figures 7 and 9 retaining a buffer property is attached on main body 100 and its extension plate 300 so as rumple may not occur when ironing clothes.
[68] Pin insertion device 103 and 303 where pin 104 is inserted would have been formed at respective ends of main body 100 and its extension plate 300 so that these two plates may be combined with each other while fixture holes 105 and 304 would have been formed at said corresponding edge surfaces. And auxiliary clamping fixture 500 is furnished through guide pieces 305 underneath the main body extension plate 300 so as to fix the main body extension plate 300 by means of insertion through said fixture holes 105 and 304. Meanwhile at main plate body 100 are further furnished the fixture holes 106 so as to fix main body extension plate 300 by insertion of auxiliary clamping fixture 500 in case when main body extension plate 300 is erected.
[69] In main body extension plate 300 are formed both sleeve ironing parts 302 insertable of sleeves by both sides of back and forth and shoulder ironing part 301 to facilitate shoulder ironing at end side of extension plate 300.
[70] Main body 100 is furnished with support bar 200 having the folding type legs 207 at center beneath so that main body 100 would be tilted or placed plain centered at support bar 200.
[71] At either side beneath the main body 100 are furnished support part 101 of support barsupport part 102 of clamping fixture.
[72] Support bar 200 is inserted in cylindrical support part 101 of support bar.
[73] At inner circumferential surface is formed key groove 107 constraining the axial movement of support bar 200, in which groove is inserted key 206 of support bar 200 within support part 101 of support bar.
[74] And at support part 102 of clamping fixture is jointed the clamping fixture 400 to be inserted at the turning guide shaft 201 formed at one edge of 200.
[75] Clamping fixture 400 is made as a quadrilateral sectional unit having a guide shaft port 401 at which the turning guide shaft 201 of support bar 200 is inserted while support part 102 of clamping fixture is also made as a quadrilateral sectional unit so that configuration is such as eventually the clamping fixture 400 may move in axial direction. And at mutually facing surfaces of clamping fixture 400 and support bar 200 would have been respectively formed fixture protuberance 202 and 402.
[76] If support bar 200 is placed upon room floor above leg 207 under geared condition of these fixture protuberances 202 and 402, main body 100 maintains horizontal condition without tilt.
[77] If clamping fixture 400 is pulled in axial direction so that these geared fixture pro¬ tuberances 202 and 402 are separated from each other, main body 100 and its extension plate 300 are tilted centered at support bar 200.
[78] Yet unexplained 208, 203, 204 and 205 represent respectively hinge part, hinge hole, leg insertion hole and hinge cap in order to join leg 207 at support bar 200;
[79] 110 and 111 represent lids to fill respective holes in main body 100 which holes had been made during injection molding of support part 101 of support bar and support part 102 of clamping fixture;
[80] 501 represents spring to thrust auxiliary clamping fixture 500 to main body 100 side;
[81] and 403 represents spring to fix main body 100 by thrusting the clamping fixture
400 so that fixture protuberances 202 and 402 are geared together.
[82] Thus constituted ironing board of this invention is assembled and used as follows.
[83] Support bar 200 shall be affixed to main body 100 after clamping fixture 400 has been inserted at support part 102 of clamping fixture beneath main body 100. This affixing of support bar 200 beneath main body 100 is completed if support bar 200 is inserted through support part 101 of support bar and then the turning guide shaft 201 is inserted at guide shaft port 401 of clamping fixture 400.
[84] Support bar 200 is joined with leg 207. This affixing of leg 207 to support bar 200 is completed if leg 207 hinge part 208 is inserted into leg insertion hole 204 and is inserted into hinge poart 203 by turning the direction after which it is pressed down by
hinge cap 205 so that hinge part 208 would not be lifted.
[85] If pin insertion devices 103 and 303 of respective main body 100 and main body extension plate 300 are coincided with each other and if then these are connected through by pin 104, main body extension plate 300 may be erected by turning centered at main body 100. And within main body extension plate 300 is affixed auxiliary clamping fixture 500 via spring 501 and guide pieces 305.
[86] If auxiliary clamping fixture 500 terminal has penetrated through fixture hole 105 and 304, main body extension plate 300 shall not be erected but constrained and extended from main body 100.
[87] Figures 2, 3, 7 and 9 show normal use condition of ironing board of this invention.
[88] Because within this invention, a sheet covers the main body 100 and its extension plate 300, if it is spread, it plays a simple ironing board role while borderline of main body 100 and its extension plate 300 is hidden by sheet 600, therefore clothes may be laid upon to be ironed as with usual ironing board.
[89] Figures 4, 5 and 8 show use condition when main body extension plate 300 has been erected. This invention has characteristics capable of erecting main body extension plate 300. If auxiliary clamping fixture 500 is pulled to escape the fixture hole 105 and 304, main body extension plate 300 would be erected by turning aside centered at pin 04. Afterwards if the pulled auxiliary clamping fixture 500 is released off, the fixture is inserted at fixture hole 106 beneath the main body 100 by the restoring force of spring 501 so as to constrain main body extension plate 300.
[90] So after all because main body extension plate 300 may be erected, accordingly shoulder of dress suit or shirt worn upon shoulder ironing part 301 may be con¬ veniently ironed.
[91] Figures 6 and 10 show tilted condition of ironing board of this invention. If clamping fixture 400 is pulled, fixture protuberances 202 and 402 are separated from each other so that main body 100 may be freely tilted. Because support bar 200 is under condition laid upon room floor above leg 207, namely eventually main body 100 turns up centered at clamping fixture 400 inserted at turning guide shaft 201 and cylindrical support part 101 of support bar so that main body 100 is tilted and the front side is raised so as to facilitate ironing of side edge sewing line of clothes.
[92] Meanwhile naturally main body extension plate 300 connected with main body 100 via auxiliary clamping fixture 500 is tilted along together during when main body 100 is tilted; so if main body extension plate 300 had already been erected condition, now it would be tilted in such condition so as to make a form that main body extension plate 300 would be directed backward.
[93] Figure 11 is front section view of right side part of ironing board of other practice example of this invention while Figure 12 is front section view of right side part of
ironing board of other practice example of this invention for condition when main body extension plate has been erected upright to be used. Main body 1 of ironing board of this other practice example of this invention would not be tilted as is laid supported by legs 15. And at side of main body 1 is furnished main body extension plate 2 having sleeve ironing part 12 and shoulder ironing part 11 to facilitate ironing of sleeveishoulder parts respectively.
[94] Main body extension plate 2 is configured so as to be able to be erected as its fixture piece 2a is connected to main body 1 by pin 4 through bracket 3 while bracket 3 and main body extension plate 2 are also configured so as to be able to be tilted according as fixture piece 2a and bracket 3 are connected by pin 5.
[95] At main body 1, bracket 3 and fixture piece 2a shall have been formed many fixture holes 7, 8 and 9 so as to be inserted of auxiliary clamping fixture 6 jointed with main body extension plate 2 by spring 14 and guide piece 13 so that main body extension plate 2 is constrained as these main body 1, bracket 3 and fixture piece 2a are connected to be integrated by auxiliary clamping fixture 6.
[96] Within main body 1 and bracket 3 would have been formed many other fixture holes 7a and 8a so as to form a cross type to fixture holes 7 and 8 which would had been formed already at main body 1 and bracket 3 so that main body extension plate 2 would be inserted at fixture holes 7 and 8 or at fixture holes 7a and 8a respectively when main body extension plate 2 would be placed parallel with room floor or would be tilted in order that main body extension plate 2 be fixed in either case of horizontal or tilted. As well beneath the main body 1 is furnished fixture hole 10 in order that main body extension plate 2 be fixed as auxiliary clamping fixture 6 would be inserted at this fixture hole 10 when main body extension plate 2 would be erected vertically.
[97] As for this ironing board of other practice example of this invention configured thus, main body 1 would never be tilted but main body extension plate 2 may be erected or tilted as shown in Figures 12 and 13.
[98] Turn main body extension plate 2 being centered at pin 4 to erect the plate upright after pulling the auxiliary clamping fixture 6 so as to escape fixture hole 7 of main body 1. Then release auxiliary clamping fixture 6 whence it will be restored by spring 14 and it will be inserted at other fixture hole 10 furnished beneath the main body 1 so that main body extension plate 2 will become under condition where it will be erected vertically from horizontal main body 1 facilitating the ironing of shoulder part of clothes by using shoulder ironing part 11 of main body extension plate 2.
[99] If main body extension plate 2 is tilted back and forth after pulling the auxiliary clamping fixture 6 so as to completely escape fixture hole 8 of bracket 3 and fixture hole 7 of main body 1, main body extension plate 2 turns to be tilted centered at pin 5 as may be understood by Figure 13. And if auxiliary clamping fixture 6 is relieved
after tilting by right angle, this auxiliary clamping fixture 6 is inserted at other fixture holes 7a and 8a of bracket 3 and main body 1 according to the restoring force of spring 14 and main body extension plate 2 is tilted facilitating the ironing of sleeve of clothes placed upon the sleeve ironing part 12.
[100] Figure 14 is oblique view of ironing board of another practice example of this invention and Figure 15 is front section view of Figure 14. This another practice example of this invention is configured so that main body AlOO and its extension plate A200 are formed by connection via hinge part A203 and pin A202 where main body extension plate A200 may be tilted and erected multistage-wise by angle control part A201.
[101] Main body AlOO is supported by the folding type legs A300 of low stature so that one can iron under seated condition.
[102] At rear side of main body AlOO is furnished gripper part A400 for convenience when ironing pants with gripped condition.
[103] Gripper part A400 has configuration to be furnished so as to be folded by turning type having connection through pin A403 unto connection piece A401 of main body AlOO via link A402 and gripper part A400 will be transferred to bottom surface of main body AlOO so as to be kept there when not in use.
[104] Figure 16 shows tilt angle control part A201 configured so that there is furnished lever A204 having hook jaw A206 and hook part A209 while this lever A204 is furnished under condition where it is depressed by spring A208 hung on guide shaft A210 wherefore hook jaw A206 is hooked at protrusion A205 of main body extension plate A200.
[105] And here is furnished to lever A204 a guide groove A207 for guidance of transference having inserted at guide shaft A210 while lever end is connected to the side wall of main body AlOO via hinge pin A211.
[106] Figure 17 shows the sleeve ironing part A500 of Figure 14 which part is furnished at either one side of main body AlOO and is connected via pin A503 unto spring connection piece A501 of main body AlOO through link A502 in same manner as for gripper part A400 and which part A500 has also such configuration so that it will be transferred to bottom surface of main body AlOO so as to be kept there when not in use.
[107] Figure 18 shows turnable leg A300 of Figure 14 where hinge part A301 holding the leg shaft A302 is formed in integral type at bottom surface of main body AlOO while leg support A303 is also furnished where turnable leg A300 would be gripped under spread condition.
[108] When to assemble turnable leg A300, it will work to be assembled if you erect it in right angle so as to insert it between leg support A303 hinge part A301 and then make
the leg shaft A302 to be inserted at hinge part A301 and be hooked. Afterwards if you spread leg A300, this will be trapped at leg support A303 so as to be stopped so that you may iron under seated posture while having main body AlOO lifted from room floor.
[109] This ironing board of another practice example of this invention configured as above is convenient when you iron shoulder part of clothes because main board extension plate A200 may be erected multistage- wise by its turning centered at pin 202.
[110] If main board extension plate A200 is erected under condition where lever A204 has been tugged as shown in Figure 16, the extension plate may be erected while hook jaw A206 escapes protrusion A205. If lever A204 is released at wanted angle of gradient, main body extension plate A200 may be fixed as erected under condition where hook jaw A206 would be caught at protrusion A205 by the restoring force of spring A208 while hook part A209 connected with hinge pin A211 would be caught by touching the side wall of main body AlOO, therefore shoulder part of clothes placed upon main body extension plate A200 may be conveniently ironed.
[I l l] Because sleeve ironing part A500 is kept beneath bottom surface of main body
AlOO as the unit has been folded according as it is turnable type, it makes us convenient as it gives us no obstacle when ironing without using it; whereas if in case of using it, it may be available by turning it upside of main body AlOO: if sleeve ironing part A500 connected with link A502 is turned upside of main body AlOO as in Figure 17, sleeve may be conveniently ironed.
[112] Because turnable leg A300 is trapped at leg support A303 under its spread condition as in Figure 18 so that main body AlOO may be lifted up from room floor, you may conveniently iron under seated posture.
[113] And here equipment manufacturing is easy because constitution of hinge part A301, leg shaft A302 and leg support A303 is simple and here assemblability is also improved because leg shaft cover and screw nail are not employed to be used.
[114] It would be convenient if gripper part A400 is used when ironing pants as well as it has advantage of easy keeping of the part because this may be turned down beneath bottom surface of main body 100 when not using the part.
[115] Figure 19 is oblique view of ironing board of more other practice example of this invention and Figure 20 is oblique view showing a reverse bottom surface part of Figure 19 which has same configuration as of practice example of Figure 14 through Figure 18. Only difference is that leg part height control device is added.
[116] As for height control device E, turnable leg B300 where is inserted leg shaft B301 leg B300 of variable position are crossed and combined. Leg B300 of variable position is integrated with leg shaft B301 inserted at hinge part B311 while substrate B304 is
furnished movable by insertion at rail B302 on bottom surface of main body AlOO.
[117] And multiple protuberances B303 are formed at center in between rail B302 whereas rail B 302 and protuberances B 303 are molded integrally at main body AlOO so that manufacturing cost may be reduced.
[118] As in Figures 21 and 22, there is furnished lever B305 having hook jaw B306 trapped at protuberances B303 while lever B305 is also furnished so that it is inserted at leg shaft B301 and may turn centered at this shaft. Moreover at end of lever B305 is furnished control axis B308 having suppression part B307 repressing the terminal of lever B305 compressed by spring B309.
[119] Yet unexplained B500 represents an iron stand to facilitate placing on of iron.
[120] Because leg height is adjustable for this ironing board of more other practice example of this invention configured as above, ironing board height is controllable so as to fit to user stature when ironing with his stood posture. As in Figures 21 and 22, if control axis B308 turns off, then suppression part B307 represses terminal of lever B305 so as to turn off so that hook jaw B306 escapes protuberances B303, whence if at this time main body AlOO is lifted or lowered, substrate B304 moves along with rail B302 so that main body AlOO height may be adjusted. And now if control axis B308 is released out of your hand, suppression part B307 will restore its original position according to restoring force of spring B309 while leg B300 will be fixed under condition where hook jaw B306 will be trapped at protuberances B303 so that adjusted height level of main body AlOO may maintain.
[121] Figure 23 is oblique view of ironing board of more other practice example of this invention and Figure 24 is section view showing a main plate tilting device of Figure 23 which has same configuration as of Figure 19 through Figure 22. Only difference is the added furnishing of the main plate tilting device so as to freely control slope of main plate AlOO.
[122] Height control device E has same configuration as in Figure 19 through Figure 22 except that it is furnished on bottom surface of substrate B312 while main body tilting device S is furnished at top part of substrate B312.
[123] As for main body tilting device S, ball C313 is furnished at top center of substrate
B312 for which is separately furnished substrate B312 having ball cap C314 covering the ball C313. This substrate B312 is fixed by method of screw tightening at bottom surface of main body AlOO whereas ball cap C314 is combined with ball C313 while being tightened and loosened by control shaft C316. Therefore if control shaft C316 is loosened then main body AlOO is tilted whence if at this time it is tightened then the tilted condition may be fixed while main body extension plate A200 is integrally furnished with main body AlOO so as to be tilted together with main body AlOO.
[124] As for this ironing board of more other practice example of this invention
configured as above, slope of main body AlOO and its extension plate A200 is freely controlled by main body tilting device S. So both flank sewing line of clothes placed on side surface of main body AlOO as well as shoulder part of clothes placed on main body extension plate A200 may be conveniently ironed because main body AlOO is freely tilted according to ball joint mode of ball C313 and ball cap C314.
[125] Figure 25 is oblique view of ironing board of more other practice example of this invention and Figure 26 is A-A section view of Figure 25 which has same con¬ figuration as of Figure 23 through Figure 24. Only difference is in configuration of main body tilting device.
[126] As for main body tilting device S, there is furnished guide block D318 to be fixed by control shaft D319 at hinge part D317 formed at substrate B312 to which guide block D318 is furnished hinge part D322 connected with pin D321. And at hinge part D322 is formed substrate D324 to be fixed by method of screw fastening at bottom surface of main body AlOO.
[127] Arc type guide groove D320 is formed at guide block D318 while control shaft
D323 is furnished at hinge part D322 so as to be tightened and loosened while control shaft D323 moves along guide groove D320.
[128] As for this ironing board of more other practice example of this invention configured as above, because control shafts D319 and D323 are furnished to be orthogonal to each other so that guide block D318 may freely move if the underside control shaft D319 is released, main board AlOO and its extension plate A200 may be tilted back and forth. And if the upside control shaft D323 is released, main board AlOO and its extension plate A200 may be tilted right and left while substrate D324, main board AlOO and its extension plate A200 would be freely tilted centered at pin D321 so that resultantly ironing is feasible while tilting the main board AlOO and its extension plate A200 back and forth as well as right and left at same time if use of these control shafts D319 and D323 are combined.
