Abstract

La présente invention a trait à des polynucléotides isolés codant pour des polypeptides impliqués dans la biosynthèse de l'anthocyanine. En particulier l'invention a trait à des procédés de la modification génétique de plantes en vue de produire des modifications transformées, agronomiques, physiologiques, ou de développement chez des plantes par l'expression d'un transgène comportant de l'ADN codant pour un ou des gènes de biosynthèse de l'anthocyanine dans des plantes. En particulier, on a découvert qu'il est possible de modifier génétiquement des plants de pomme de terre qui expriment un gène de biosynthèse de l'anthocyanine recombinant qui présentent un phénotype modifié, y compris la production accrue d'anthocyanine. La manipulation de l'expression d'un gène d'anthocyanine (par exemple, par de méthodologies de surexpression ou de silençage génique) facilite la production de plates ayant une coloration modifiée.
